247 saying Nico was trying to negotiate a new contract before our playoffs last year. Whatever you think of VOLS paying him or cutting him loose: IF that was true, we have a top quarterback coming in next year: There is no way he wouldn't screw us over at the end of the season, and they would know this.
Here’s what I’d like to know: did these, especially the local guys, know this prior to last week or are they also just now learning this? If the former, that’s journalistic malpractice.

The intriguing thing about Nico to UCLA is that Big Nic already screwed UCLA once with Madden.

Madden did the exact same thing Nico did and Big Nic had him bolt for more money at Arkansas.

UCLA might not be interested in dealing with that family again.

Also, interested to see if Big Nic does this to Arkansas with Madden.

If a player has a completion % under 55, I just don’t understand why you would include them…it’s so obvious a coach isn’t going to waste their time.

All 3 of those kids are meh.
This individual wants that QB, then another individual wants that QB. So on and so. I'm more interested in which one CJH wants....at the moment Nobody knows....

Happy Choose Day

April 15, 2025: This is a season of changes both great and small. It will be a time when you have to face and accept the current flow of your life and move on with the assurance that the Lord is with you every step of the way. Lean on God for courage and wisdom as you forge ahead. You are not alone. Deuteronomy 31:6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.

It's like they purposely take an anti-UT stance. Why? You're the local guys. Why piss on your listeners in such a way?
It gets the strongest reaction. The industry is about getting listeners. Haters or lovers it matters not, one counts as much as the other.

The more I think about all the QB vacancy the more I wonder if the right guy and right answer is as simple as Gaston. It checks so many boxes and in some ways, he would have earned it.

Maybe the answer is he can't beat those guys out. AP has said he would not come back to be the starter so maybe he is not talented enough to fill the role fully.

He just isn’t very good. Better to see what we have with the young guys.

Sounds like UCLA or bust for Nico. I suppose he could wait and see how the transfer portal shakes out. Cal could use a QB, though I doubt they are gonna pay Nico anywhere near 2.5 million. Maybe Utah takes a shot?

The silence from Nico is deafening. The fact NOTHING has been addressed by him is just another enormous red flag in terms of maturity and character.

I mean, he never seemed to have much social acumen, but I never would have guessed he was this inept.
What do you expect him to say, exactly? And why would he say anything while he still hasn't signed anywhere? He has absolutely nothing to gain from speaking. He could only hurt himself further.

I’m starting to see some BVS trickle into the site. Here’s my thought that’s calming my nerves: Nico was around $2.5M and wanted $4M (supposedly). There’s a reason the program didn’t negotiate and offer around $3M back in December/January before it came out in the open. That tells me Heupel is confident with what he’s currently got and didn’t see Nico as that shining star that was the difference between 10 wins and a 6-6 campaign.

This is the exact opposite of what needs to be done. Sometimes, Shutting up is the best course of action. Which more people needed to learn. Not everything needs an explanation immediately.

I bet Nico wishes Big Nick just STFU back in January.

After some thought, I felt before for anico a bit and still do for the fact that this seems driven by his counsel. HOWEVER, here’s the thing: if you want to be treated like a professional and earn professional money, act like one. I said it before, you see this stuff in the nfl, but those players are the best in the game (Lamar jackson) and when they do it during a time that impacts the team (leveon bell) it does not turn out well for them. Nobody wants that. And you can’t want to be treated like an adult and then get sympathy for being a kid. So as much as I hate it for the kid, you asked for it. The ability to be treated as a kid was lost when you signed on the dotted line for 2 mil a year and had a university bring down the whole system just to be able to do that for you. Show some gratitude and go earn that next pay raise before demanding it.

I think we will be fine with Merklinger playing QB1. Only thing CJH needs Merk to do is be a game manager and ride the running game hard ...no crazy turnovers trying to play hero ball. The defense should be just as strong or stronger this upcoming season...

I know you guys think 17-10 games are boring but if that's what it takes to win "so be it".
