Maybe so, we could also view as a 1 year agreement for the 2025 season for both parties. Cut ties after the season.

I'm not high on Merk like some on here who trying to force feed his hype train. Hopefully I'm wrong but next year could be a terrible season if we have bad QB play.

There are always going to be bad games. But for the most part our OL was good enough for Nico to throw the ball effectively and he just didn’t do it.

Not early in the season. Once they got better (and healthy), he got better. I admit that he missed WR's, but the OL was a problem, too. Funny enough, that was discussed all season.

I agree that Nico has had a deal in place with another team for a while.

But he ultimately doesn’t want to go and has been leveraging the deal at UT. He wanted to stay.

But this last round pissed off UT and they said no. His camp pushed in all the chips and now it’s blown up in their faces.

His people are mostly to blame. He could have shut it down though.

Initially I was hoping they would work things out. But after learning that his family was “shopping” his services around for the highest bidder, I’d rather he leave. Just terrible for team morale. How do you listen to a guy who isn’t truly bought in with his team? I wouldn’t take him seriously ever again. Just my personal feelings on it

Contract negotiation rumors and now holding out of spring practice is a bold move from the supposed-to-be star QB who was supposedly all-in and had stepped up as a real leader.

Here's a major reason why its so bold: NIL. If you piss off the fanbase that's buying your autographs and jerseys they're gonna stop doing that. And if they stop doing that, you will (I assume) make less.

Either Nico is done at Tennessee or orchestrate a new contract and he returns.

If it's the latter, he better show out. Honeymoon is over. Marginal play will get him crucified after this.

Yep - whether Nico stays or goes, that stupid lei I bought to support him is going on the fire pit as soon as this rain clears out!
