Jeff Goodman just reported that Alvaro Folgueiras is visiting Iowa, Providence, and Villanova starting this weekend. Sounds like UK and Tennessee is out on Alvaro. Unfortunate because this guy can really play.

I think that may be an overreach, but I'm not enamored with his skill at either guard spot, and I've been vocal about that for a long time.

It sounds like UT and UK may have passed. Not one of the programs he is visiting made the tournament.

I agree. It seems like he is targeting teams where he can be a big focal point of the offense. UK also had to try and retain Brandon Garrison. He still isn't fully committed to not jumping into the portal and if we would have taken another big man, he almost certainly would have.

He did score during the first game of the tourney... I remember him driving to the basket for a layup and I was like woah he actually can score lol. That's the only time I remember him scoring though. I was glued in one him during warm-ups because I have legit never seen his jumpshot before so I was curious.

I was actually at there this morning and saw them. I’m shocked at how fast this was reported considering there might have been 20 people there.

I think he scored some early in the season. I may be wrong, but I think he is a capable scorer, and can probably learn to play good defense. Where I’m most concerned is that I recall him making some terrible passes that led to layups. Can’t have our point guard doing that on a regular basis. I think he is best suited at the 2 spot.

I'm assuming they think he could be a good value bench piece with high major athleticism. Can be a great defender and elite in transition.

Yeah, he isn’t bad. I’d compare him to Pons a little. High flyer, good defender.

I agree on Boswell. I did not see the passing or handling ability I had hoped for. I’m all for positional versatility, but we need to leave that for the 2-4 spots. Continually recruiting “combo guards” who lack the skills to run the point, or the scoring instincts to play SG is stupid. They’re not combo guards, they’re just “tweeners” with less value.

We had some of the same problems with Jaden Springer running PG. Keon Johnson was not as good of a ball handler as we wanted at the SG position either.

I’m glad we got Gillespie, but from now on please recruit true fricking PG’s and be done with it. I don’t know why we keep doing this to ourselves. Asinine

Grew up there. That was 40 years ago. I doubt much has changed.

Damn...harsh considering he's a former top 50 national player who only played 116 total minutes.

3 years left with great size and for sure can be good for us.

If Freeman ends up coming to Tennessee, we have to get him an NIL deal with Cracker Barrel and get him on some billboards if he ends up being good here. Maybe a plate named after him while he's a player here.

Passmore's 1st year numbers aren't impressive, but the kid is an athlete and plays defense.
