Wow. I’m so impressed with how the coaches have put together this class. Seems like theyve done real well with each guy they’ve prioritized

Five years ago, if you had told me how the transfer portal and NIL would reshape college basketball, I would have said no way Barnes could survive in that environment. I give him a lot of credit for adapting to how things changed and putting UT basketball in a stronger position.

Hearing from a few people it's pretty much gonna happen. They have a nice feel for playing games together.

Not to put the cart before the horse, but assuming this gets done who is the next domino we are likely looking to fall? Freeman/Ament; Or are we still in it for Atwell or Pozzatto (assuming back checks out); Or one of each?

There’s a few moving pieces going on behind the scenes, we’ll see how those shake out, right now they’re doesn’t seem to be a ton going on with Atwell or Pozzato, but in the portal things can change.

So…say we land Rice and Ament, we are pretty much looking at:

PG- Gillespi, Henderson
SG: Rice, Evans
SF: Ament, ?
PF: Carrey, Phillips
C: Okpara, JP, Brown

You could obviously enter-change Carrey/Phillips/JP Estrella between pf and C, let’s go land an additional SF to compliment Ament, or 2 SF’s if we dont land Ament, and we should be set

Anything new with Ament? Thought his offer was one of those “now or never” kinda deals.

Everything BTO said is consistent with what I’m hearing. Rice started this process with no representation. That’s made it hard to do things from afar. Having him on campus should get it done. Apparently he’s a little overwhelmed and a visit should give him a simple way to understand everything all at once and be done. We clearly lead here on relationships, comfort and fit. As BTO said, anything can change.

Ament situation is one apple vs three oranges. He and his parents love CRB and believe what he says. They are ex-missionaries and align with a lot of what they’re being told about how Nate would be developed as a player and young man. The other programs have more money and promises. This will be a bit of a struggle between agent and family probably. We’ll be strong with an offer, but he’ll have to believe we can lift his draft stock as we have with others. Familiar story, and not necessarily a bad one. Just hard to predict.

Freeman seems to be methodically going along as are conversations with one other 3/4 wing. Trying to get more info on who.

I haven’t heard about anyone else.

Burries ship sailed a long time ago. We’re not currently a factor.
