Gillespie 6’1If we land Gillespie, Mckneely, and Alvaro I almost don’t care who else we land. That’s damn good.
That’s 9-10 deep right there. I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw improvement from Boswell and instant impact from Evans tbhGillespie 6’1
Rice 6’4
McKneely 6’4
Alvaro 6’9
Okpara 6’11
Bench: Freeman, Cade, JP, Boswell, Evans, Brown, Henderson
Top 3 in the SEC. Little bigger team at PG, and more depth in the post.
Don’t forget that JJJ came back and didn’t have a spot, they were just going to make up for his tuition in additional NILSo realistically if the hearing goes the way of the players and a 5th year is granted, are the guys likely to come back? Knowing our luck the hearing goes the players way and we have too many people lol
I personally think he is. As much as I’d hate to say it, he would fit really well in Pope’s system.Trippie - don't know much about Alvaro. Is he an upgrade over Igor?
That was my thinking as well. Specifically to the Gillespie camp given that’s the reason he did not come last year apparentlyI just wonder if the series of events that follow are JG comes to the Vols, a fifth year is approved, and ZZ wants to come back - is there going to be hurt feelings somewhere?
And add in Zeigler, Mashack, and Gainey. Kids with no eligibility are entering portal. The 5 year thing is a real thing.Gillespie 6’1

McKneely 6’4
Alvaro 6’9

Again, take this as you will. Basilio said in his blog yesterday than ZZ is open to playing with Gillespie if the 5th year comes to fruition. I imagine Gillespie would play off ball & spell ZZ at point as needed.I just wonder if the series of events that follow are JG comes to the Vols, a fifth year is approved, and ZZ wants to come back - is there going to be hurt feelings somewhere?
If Gillespie is fine playing off ball, then I’d love ZZ back. Again, I’m just sick tired of him getting his **** packed driving to the rim, but at the same time it’s hard to argue against his production.Again, take this as you will. Agreed, I think that's best case scenario for the backcourt. If Gillespie is fine playing off ball, then I’d love ZZ back. Again, I’m just sick tired of him getting his **** packed driving to the rim, but at the same time it’s hard to argue against his production.
Shack just needs to move on, that’s all I’ll say.
I’d definitely be fine with:
PG: ZZ
SG: Gillespie
SF: McKneely
That’s filthy, you have two scorers and ZZ…instead of just Chaz.
I think we have seen enough times that NOT having ZZ gets you no further than the Sweet 16. Very weird take that you guys don't want one of, if not the best PGs in the history of our program that racks up an ungodly amount of assists.i think we've seen enough times that ZZ at PG will not get us to the Final Four
