The Official #6 [2] Tennessee vs. #2 [1] Houston Game Thread, 2:20 PM ET, CBS

I want to personally thanks our players and coaches for the amazing season. 30 win season and in the top 10 for the whole year. Thanks for all their dedication and commitment to winning. They have invested many hours of hard work. Best of luck to all our players and especially to the ones who finished their college careers. I have no doubt they will make outstanding citizens in their communities and more importantly be good husbands and fathers. They’ve had a model coach to learn from on how to do things in life the right way. We didn’t reach our goal today which we are all disappointed but the real winners are our players as they have learned valuable life lessons to pass down to their children and grandchildren. We didn’t win the game today, but our players won valuable life lessons because of our head coach. Go Vols!
Well said🧡🧡

We hit 35%+ from 3 and we win.

All the other numbers are fun to look at and debate, but it almost always comes down to which team hits the highest % of threes.
Yep, when they got good looks, they knocked them down. When we got it back to 10, they hit 3 threes in a row to grow back to a 16-point lead. They were in a zone, and we were fighting against ourselves all game missing FTs, Lane vios and just not playing UT Bball.

Agree. Elite 8 I dont see him getting us farther. We need better shooters. Too many bricks. This team was not ready to play first half.

It happens, ask Florida! Bad momentum can build bad results pretty dang quick. Some of the older guys might have feared their part in leaving while putting Coach in the cross hairs of SOME of our FOLLOWERS. Class begets class, same true for class challenged. It is not about recognizing facts, but what you DO or DON’T DO with them while sporting the same colors and logos.

Vols need so much for next season - point guard(s), Offensive minded wings (6'7" or taller) Shooting guards.

2024 vs Purdue: 3-12 / 1-8 from 3 point / 9 points
2025 vs Houston: 1-9 / 1-6 from 3 point / 5 points

This is not a slight or bash of ZZ, but I would have wagered any amount of money he wouldn't have had these back to back performances in the Elite 8
It wasn't a slight on ZZ, but it's the first thing you mentioned?

Too funny

We scored 15 pt in the entire first half. 15 pt. Never has a 1 or 2 seed scored that few points in a half. Ever.
The more I think about it , the angrier I get.
In- game interview, Coach said we need to make more shots. That is the biggest understatement he has ever made.
I'm watching Sparty fight off a terrible start and am incredibly jealous. They may not win, but Sparty fans got to see a stellar coaching effort.

It's not a F'ing understatement. We shot 21%

They haven't seen anything like Houston. It'll definitely be an adjustment.
Houston hasn’t seen anything like Duke. Duke is athletic with length. Some of Houston’s inside shots will go to the rafters when Flagg comes from the weak side w/ the block.

I’m pulling for Houston moving forward. Hopefully they play Michigan St, though just saw Auburn up nine.

Overall, I just think that Igor was out of his league playing with the big boys this year.
He looked lost often on both sides of the ball. I think it was talent, too, though. He struggled to gain control of loose balls and allowed his man to outbound (at least vs elite teams).

I’ve piled on him enough this season so time to move on.

Go Vols!
