Pete Hegseth, Trump Dept of Defense nominee…

She’s a clown. But the tweeter couldn’t even be bothered to read the letters in the bottom right?

It clearly says “MSNBC”. It’s not a “CNN guest”.
It's also lazy to claim DEI is only about race. If you agree with DEI, or not, it's a misrepresentation

That’s true.

Though it’s what most of those screeching equate it with.

True Diversity & Inclusion would be about diversity of thought and experience, and can/would provide great value in realms such as product development.

But for most Universities & Corporations is predominantly about skin color (with a nod to gender and preference), and Race is a poor proxy for diversity of thought.

Diversity is generally an incredibly beneficial thing, but only when it's naturally evolved. Mandated, forced diversity will generally bring an organization down since it bypasses the search for the best applicants in favor of criteria that is of no benefit, and has the possibility of hurting morale.

The way to get the beneficial form (natural) of diversity is to cast a wide net with the primary mandate being to hire the best, most qualified applicants from the widest pool possible.

The reason I knew this is that Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, had texted me the war plan at 11:44 a.m. The plan included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.
Conceivably, Waltz, by coordinating a national-security-related action over Signal, may have violated several provisions of the Espionage Act, which governs the handling of “national defense” information, according to several national-security lawyers interviewed by my colleague Shane Harris for this story.

Couple other points that stand out:
The Signal app is not approved by the government for sharing classified information.
There was another potential problem: Waltz set some of the messages in the Signal group to disappear after one week, and some after four. That raises questions about whether the officials may have violated federal records law: Text messages about official acts are considered records that should be preserved.

Dei is a quota system, a check box for self-virtuous communists

"But then there’s the issue of Goldberg himself and the narrative he's pushing that the chat contained “war plans.”

“There is a dispute over whether the term ‘war plans’ is being exaggerated,” Jennings noted, undercutting the central premise of the Atlantic report.

This is a significant issue.

Goldberg has a history of publishing bogus hit pieces against Donald Trump.

In 2020, The Atlantic published a report claiming that Trump didn’t want to visit the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery near Paris in 2018 because the troops there who died in battle were “losers” and “suckers." The article was quickly debunked after it was first published, and Goldberg even admitted that the story may have been wrong. Weather reports confirmed that Trump’s visit to the cemetery was canceled due to weather conditions.

During the 2024 election, Goldberg was responsible for another bogus hit piece against Trump that claimed Trump got angry at the bill for a deceased soldier's funeral that he offered to pay for back in 2020, which reportedly cost $60,000. The story was clearly bogus, and other journalists had been pitched the same story but could tell it wasn’t legit and didn’t run it.

Goldberg has repeatedly sacrificed his credibility and the credibility of The Atlantic to push false narratives to undermine Trump. His track record of dishonest reporting speaks for itself, making skepticism not just reasonable but necessary. Given how eagerly the mainstream media rushed to declare the Steele dossier legitimate — only for it to be exposed as a sham — there’s every reason to doubt Goldberg’s framing of this story

Can you definitely say just from those texts that this is a live attack or could it have been War game.. What specifics make it a live attack

I can tell you from first-hand experience there is not a single "war game" exercise that isn't plastered with the word "EXERCISE" repeated multiple times before and after. At least in real strike communications....

Whether it's real or not, this information being released would have given potential targets two hours of notice.
