I saw a few posts about Trump making moves to close the Dept of Ed.

I cannot believe that will actually happen. We just do not see government departments get shuddered.

What are your thoughts. Will it happen? Will a new department be created? Will it DoE be revived when under another president?

I want to believe but I can't. I think he'll cut it as much as he can but he'll need congress to close it down and that's not happening.

The most frustrating part about the GOP right now. They aren’t gonna even bother to try to pass legislation. They are gonna celebrate the EOs. And come 2028 they will tell America “You’ve got to vote us all back in or else the (D) candidate will undo the last 4 years with their pen!!”

Write clean common sense bills and see if the opposition will vote against them.

Use that as campaign fodder.

Wife had Good Morning America on this morning and a segment I caught was them talking about the Tesla vandalisms. They shortly covered the vandalism of peoples cars, the Tesla stores and the Doxing of owners but spent most of the time on the Commerce Secretary's comments urging people to buy Tesla stock. At the close of the segment George Stephanopoulos didn't say the vandalism or attacks were concerning, he said (not exact quote) "he was most concerned about the Secretary's urging people to buy Tesla stock". Not the private citizens having their cars vandalized, not the firebombing of Tesla stores or the fact that if this keeps up someone is going to get hurt or killed, he was most worried about the Secretary of Commerce urging Americans to buy stock in an American company.

It is concerning when high ranking Gov't employees provide free advertising to a private citizen who's co president and is paid $8 mil daily by the US government.
Someone keying a tesla is no more concerning than someone keying a Toyota, explain why it should be.

The whole "spineless Republican" mantra still holds true to this day. They are just much better at putting on a show now. Republicans are still pretenders and haven't really changed.

Who's getting paid $8mil a day by the US government?

But yeah, the commerce secretary shouldn't have made that statement but it's absolutely reprehensible that GS would find that more concerning than the violent acts being committed at Tesla stores and the vandalism of private property as political protest.

Luckily he was able to do something the US government couldn’t do with some of that money and rescue a couple people who had been abandoned in space by the US government.
