How dare you. Those would be the front-runners at this point. Now, how many here had SEC bias and pushed a bunch of SEC teams fairly deep in the tournament?

Only team from SEC I put in FF was Tennessee. The only team a True Vols fan should push in a bracket. Auburn, Alabama and Florida I dumped in Sweet 16 or before.

I believe I had SEC bias in that I know those teams. For instance, when we played Missouri, they played well and looked strong. But many are saying Missouri will lose to Drake in the first round.

I got that also as a upset special. Drake is a very good team that is looked down upon because they play in Missouri Valley Conference. Drake won a first round game last season..

There was something about Tiger I just didn’t like. I never met him, so it wasn’t an interaction I had. Maybe he was just too good too fast for me. HGH and other PED usage is highly rumored to have happened as well…..never proven. :rolleyes:

He was driven more than any athlete I’ve heard about. That’s what made him great, and maybe what caused some to not be a fan. He wasn’t “real”almost machine like.

I’ve always maintained he’s 2nd best ever, but I could easily say #1.

Now that his career is winding down, I look back at it in awe. He’s a different person now, more accessible and I’ve grown to like him ….. a little😁

Few thoughts about Tiger...

He got raked over the coals publicly for the affairs because he held himself out to be something different than that. Once he got married and had a couple of kids, his team really went all-out on presenting Tiger as a family man off the course. I don't know if Arnie ever held himself out that way. The public can forgive personal indiscretions pretty quickly, but it takes them a longer time to get over not being genuine or authentic, because they feel like they've been duped.

Despite his enormous popularity, Tiger actually doesn't actually have a lot of natural charisma. People who have known him a long time (family friends, people who knew him in college, etc.) actually describe him as shy and socially awkward. You can even tell this pretty easily in interviews from his junior career and college. He looked nerdy and comes off as nervous and awkward in a lot of interviews. He had, frankly, a bizarre childhood where he was his dad's laboratory project to turn his son into a professional golfer. Until he became something of an elder statesman for the game, he had very few friends on Tour. Personality-wise, he was really ill-equipped to be a global superstar and never really liked being a celebrity in addition to a golfer. His marketability as a golfer was almost purely from the simple fact that he won all the time; he never was a barrel of laughs or a charmer.

Now that he's older, I think he's stopped taking himself so seriously and has lightened up some. He's much more likeable now than he was in the prime of his playing career.

I've never been a "fan," but I nothing but the utmost respect for him and his game.
I'd love to have a dinner with him to pick his brain. What he's been through in his life, a candid, confidential discussion would be amazing.

He certainly did have a bizarre childhood. His parents forced him to break up with his high school sweetheart by using a written letter. Additionally, his dad was constantly having affairs with women right in front of him at the golf course where he grew up. Now, none of this excuses his behavior. He was a grown man and he made his own decisions.

Truth be told, there are many people who would have done the same thing he did had they been in his shoes. Reminds me of this funny bit from Ron White.
