Could be something natural. CME, our abnormally strong magnetic field, could be something we consider minor but really messed with their tech. Maybe theres something keeping us from this tech but its "normal" here but "abnormal" from somewhere else. Or some combination of them.

Also could be human interference too. We are good at breaking stuff.

This is one of the best accounts of UFO interaction IMO. All the other grown men that were logging with him saw the craft, saw the man taken, then authorities and everyone else searched for him for 3 days? Or something before he magically showed up back at the same place they had encountered the craft? One of the most believable tales, from a group of guys who had nothing to gain and much to lose from this happening. Seems like the abductees brother was among the other guys too ? Hope I am remembering this correctly, it has been a long time.
