Defending Auburn is somewhat of a Catch 22. You obviously have to start with Broome and we don’t have 1 guy that we can just throw at him all game long without help. So we’ll definitely be helping weak side and digging down from the perimeter.
But Broome is a very good passer and when you have to help, there will be some open perimeter looks that will require very good rotation to defend. But if you’re Tennessee, you do not let Broome beat you and you do not let the guards drive to the basket all day. So you have to live with forcing Auburn into perimeter jump shots and if they hit them then just tip the cap. Rotation will be very important and can’t be out of position giving them open looks from breakdowns. Execute and rebound the misses and don’t give them multiple chances. They’re no Goliath like they’re made out to be, if we build off yesterday’s offensive performance and play typical TN defense we will win this game.
