Researchers needed a large group of people to volunteer to have their DNA mapped and all treatment to their specific illness would be documented along with how you responded. The idea was to develop targeted medicine specific to a persons make-up. This needed to be a large group of people in order to overcome anonymities. they came to the VA in 2011 and asked for volunteers. I joined the program in 2012 and the other day I noticed the number of vets in the program, topped over 1,100,000, The collected data is sent to over 700 researchers and institutions around the world. They have been able to advance a lot treatments and have identified all sorts of things like they can now predict who will be likely get PTSD, advance cancer treatments and a whole skew of other breakthroughs. I could go on and on but if interested google it.

To help clarify, I am a contractor, my company has contracts across a few agencies including some that were subject to the DOGE cuts (which were promptly rescinded after we had already fired everyone on those projects).

To say it's been a cluster is generous.

It’s amusing that you find that amusing. You need to keep your emotions in check, your hissy fits are becoming a regular thing. Were you amused when co-President Musk called Mark Kelly, a navy veteran, a traitor yesterday? That seems like a pretty despicable thing to say. But crickets from MAGA. Self-reflection is your friend, you should try it some time because your outrage is misplaced and your constant temper tantrums are embarrassing.

I am primary caregiver for a 78yo vietnam vet. He gets most of his care through the VA here in Charlotte. I take him to appointments because its too far for him to walk at the main facility from the parking lot (they have a shuttle tho) and because i want to keep up with his care. They do an amazing job. Great doctors from primary, cardio and pulmonary. Very nice facility that still looks brand new. Its maybe 10 or 15 years old. He is very happy with the care and so am I. All of this VA medical improved greatly in Trumps first term. His admin made it a priority. I trust him not to do anything to harm the actual treatment veterans ate getting. As with any government related office, there is lots of paperwork, phone calls, and too much bureaucracy due to bloated administration. I hope and believe that those are the positions being eliminated.

So weird right? They also went from stinky anti-war hippies spitting on vietnam vets at airports when returning home to bloodthirsty warhawks that want full on shooting war with Russia, Iran, China, North Korea, Syria etc etc. Pretty much anyone they can hurl billions of dollars worth of costly munitions at to enrich the MIC that owns all the Dim politicians. Its shameful and stupid. The Obama and Biden(Obama) administrations have Europe and the world teetering on the precipice of WW3...and are STILL trying to send billions and billions more dollars we don't have to Ukraine. 2 entire generations of men are dead in Ukraine already. Theres really nobody left to fight and die for the Globalists anymore. Time to sue for peace rather than be completely destroyed by the Russians IMO.
