Unless you have star players that are getting big contracts and/or you are signing big FA deals, the cap purge isn't all that helpful. You have to replace the players. Drafting works but you have to nail it. Maybe they have a brilliant plan and I just don't see it. The pats have over 100 mil in cap space and they stink and will stink for a few more years.Had to be done. Now cut Murray, Key (post June 1 designation), Hooker, and maybe NPF (but I'm ok keeping him around as experienced depth). Do all that, and according to OverTheCap.com, we will have over 85 million in free cap space.

I'd love to trade back to 3 with the Giants...........and even maybe trade back again..........stockpile picks.I think they probably signaled their plans with the Landry release. Trading back, probably Giants, could be later for more picks.
Well, we signed one. Not sure if he's good, though. If available, I think now is when you open the pursestrings and sign a good vet LT and move Latham to RT where he belongs. Then all you need for a solid starting five is a RG and good back-ups. Quicker path to O-line success, which helps both the QB and RB's.
