This is my issue with it. Either impose the tariffs or don’t. Not sure if he’s doing this just to see who bites on amending existing trade agreements or what? But stop whipsawing markets around. I got into more cash a couple of weeks ago. I’m not moving a muscle till there is some clarity and consistency and I can get a better feel of what the markets like or don’t like.

China’s response to Canada’s 100% tariff on Chinese EVs. These were put in place after the U.S. did the same, recognizing the joint stake of both countries in the North American auto sector. Seems less than worth it given current circumstances

Should do wonders to take us back to the kind of agrarian economy that was all rage in the late 18th century lol

Enjoy paying 3x what you currently pay for your goods when you everything you buy gets made by people on an American pay scale.

I for one have no interest in bringing back low-skill manufacturing to the US in the name of isolationism. But if you want your cheap trinkets Made in America be ready to pay handsomely for it.

Tariffs are why we got away from again society. The British could ship textiles to USA and sale cheaper than we could make them. Tariffs even playing field.


Without Tariffs, we would have no manufacturing right now, it would all be in China unless we want to reduce our pay to less than $ 5 per hour.

The CCP hasn’t stolen the trinkets technology yet.

Isolationism is different from stopping other countries from screwing us. A lot of them might want to eat. It’s leverage and flexing economic might. They need us. We don’t need them. It’s crazy to give away our jobs and consumer market to other wealthy nations or ignoring the rogue ones.

Low skill manufacturing is abroad now because it is a good thing for us. There's no reason to pay a premium to do it at home when we can outsource it to a cheaper labor pool.

It's foolish to bring that low-skill manufacturing back to the US so the unskilled here have something to do. Rather, they should get skilled at something useful.
