Game Thread: SEC Tournament Second Round. #18/14 Lady Vols (9 seed) vs. Vandy (8 seed). Thurs., March 6, 11 am ET, SECN

We still out played them on the court . They were gifted with many more fouls than the VOLS it is what it is. Several fouls were just ridiculous and several over looked on the dores .

no way we outplayed them in the majority of the game. We look tired or uninterested, and I don’t believe we are uninterested.

Just heard on the radio that this is the first time the lady Vols had lost to Vandy multiple times in one year.

I also fear we won’t play at home in the NCAA tournament. The loss hurt.

We had three or four players pushing thirty in a lot of games. It is all about dealing and I would say it would be more about the style of play that would hurt us with some. A lot of players don't like to play press. They do like the freedom to shoot the ball and they would have that here.
Not just the number of mns but how they're distributed in games. Some players will want flow. You have to wonder how much lack of flow due to frequent subbing has affected our shooting.

Can u name the players that will be better 3pt shooters than Spear, Darby and Spencer next year?
First off Spear, Darby, and Spencer have a hard time getting the shot off because they can't create for themselves. In big games when you need them to hit a shot to stop a run they can't so... anybody from next years class. I think Mia Pauldo, Mya Pauldo, Lauren Hurst, and Ace Strickland all could be better shooters than them.

Some will and for others enough NIl will suffice to play anyway the coach wants them to play. I am for three four minutes before subbing but evidently that is not happening as long as Coach Kim is here. She found a really good class that accepted it for next season so either they like it or the NIL was enough to make them like it or at least not care.

Do u think the twins will have a hard time getting it off in the Sec because of their size? And if you’re right and we have 5 players hitting over 40% from 3 on high volume, that’s a Championship.

Spear and Spencer both shot over 40%, u think the twins will be better than that? If so I might have to put us in the final four.
Spencer was 47% in the non-conference games but 30% in SEC games. Spear has been almost exactly the reverse, 30% in non-conference and 46% in SEC games. Love Spear, but she's not the most consistent, though I think it's been better this year. But she was a combined 1-10 from 3 against SC, Texas, and Kentucky.

As @glv98 has said repeatedly, consistent 3-point shooting is key, and we haven't really had it.

I’ve said the same thing about the need for 3pt shooters and I agree they haven’t been consistent. So do u think the twins will come in and be consistent or will they be up and down with growing pains?

The twins will eventually be better than this year’s backcourt but not their freshman year.
JMO I think Mia will be better than Spencer from day one. Mya plays off guard and would play behind Cooper. Boyd is probably playing a bigger role next season as well. Civil is one of the quickest players in that class if not the quickest she should be awesome in the press. We need to pick up an inside strong girl and maybe one consistent established three point 3-4 to really make it look great. I am expecting that to happen.
Right now I think Mia is the starting point guard from day one. The rest of the freshmen could play roles next year, but I expect Mia to lead.

I haven't really watched them enough to know, but they're freshmen, so yeah, I'd expect ups and downs. Even as amazing as Hidalgo was last season, she was 34% on 3s compared to 40% this season (and Juju's improved slightly from 32% to 34%).

But Kim doesn’t have a consistent starting lineup, she switches it up almost every game, I think some games Mya will start and other Mia will start.

Not playing at home that is a given. Still hoping five but believing six.

You're not going to have five players over 40% that's crazy. Mia and Mya both will have some sort of trouble but they don't necessarily have to shoot because they are able to get other people wide open looks. They make their surroundings better!!

Hannah plays in a different system so those rules don’t apply, that’s unless u think the twins will be 1st team AllAmericans their 1st season like Hannah was?

I was actually trying to take your side even though I think you're being snarky, in that it's unreasonable to expect too much out of freshmen.

I can tell you haven't watched Deniya Prawl much. Whitehorn isn't on the same stratosphere as Prawl. Whitehorn has the experience but that's it.

Don't know doubt they score as much cause they won't play as much. Mia just needs 57 points to match Hannah's high school scoring. May or may not get past her total have a game tonight and maybe tomorrow. Looking for their third state title.

Will you at any point have both 5’5 twins out there at the same time?
I would say yes sometimes just finding it hard to see them being out there a lot together. Civil can really play I just can't see anyway she is not going to get her 20 minutes. I am expecting her to have the same steal total as Cooper has this year. MIa plays point and Mya does not and if she decided to both will not be out there together. I can see Mya in a minutes battle with Civil. Cooper stays here she is going to get 25 at least so not a lot left at the two. I guess they could go small sometime and put Cooper at the three.

Can Prawl and Civil shoot the three at an average clip? I haven’t read that about them like I have the twins and Hurst. From what I can tell, we have lots of drivers coming back for next year but not a lot of shooters. At least from what we have seen of the system this year, you really need almost everyone on the perimeter to be able to shoot on the kick outs from the drivers and that includes your posts and wings.
