Department of Government Efficiency - DOGE

There is process. That is why people can't get the Seth Rich laptop. Use the process, you can also have your Congressman change the law.
You're not comparing like things. Can you list the other govt agencies that have to hide who is in charge? Can you list the others the admin is attempting to hide?

I just gave you an example.

Start FOIA on the CIA and NSA and see what happens. Either way process. Most of this was setup by Obama from what I can tell, so it would seem like Congress can reverse it even if they are right.

The law can be changed by the People. If you don't believe there is enough transparency than you have it changed.

NSA director Lt. Gen. Timothy D. Haugh

Now FOIA the CIA and ask them how many employees they have or a case files. You have the power to change it i.e. Legislative branch. The first they will say is classified the second one is they will say its exempt.

FOIA Update: Special FOIA Relief for CIA

If the People want to change something or want more transparency they can, none of it exists unless the People want it to exist.

Now you're just making up unrelated goals for me. I've simply asked who is heading up doge. Only answer we get is "not Elon" yet he's the only one speaking. Why is doge more secretive than the cia or nsa?

They're claiming they are not an agency but part of the executive branch it would seem. I don't know whether they are right or wrong, but you can have what Obama put in there reversed even if they are right. I don't know who was running the country from 2021-2025 and I probably will never know i.e. executive privilege. Obama might have setup a tricky one here, I don't know but Congress can change it would seem.

What Obama setup is kind of funny, and Trump using it like this is quite something. I admit that.

Except the potus is claiming Elon is "in charge" of DOGE while the WH said that Musk is not a DOGE employee and has no authority. This needs to be clarified

If DOJ is correct, it doesn't need to be clarified. (for the record I have no idea how that would play out)

Now a thought that did come to me is, all records of the agency communications/data/information to DOGE might be subject to FOIA (as a generalization) but there could be claims of executive privilege. But would seem not a part of executive privilege would be communication/data/information generated within each specific agency which gets back to whatever request comes from the President or through DOGE.

I would work the FOIA from the other side, the agency side and you might be able to get similar or the same data, if not more. ????

So... how is the agency handling the requests/orders of the President and discussions as to these orders/requests, and what is the data being generated. The problem is, under how Obama set it up... DOGE really has the legal authority to go right into specific systems, so if they do that... it could become tougher to get all data points.

I'll admit, its probably more tricky than I first imagined. Very cute. But Congress can stop the backdoor which was put in under Obama. Trump is using the tools that were left behind but let's give them time, let them work for a bit... looks like they are trying to get stuff done.... maybe just not perfect. Elon said what I said the other day, mistakes will be made and they will try and fix them.... I think there is talk for political purpose but I also think they are working hard and really are trying their best.

I certainly hope they do. My TSLA stock is underwater

It is odd because the companies that Musk created seem to be more attractive for left-leaning voters than right. If Musk wanted to make a political play to help his businesses, you would think he would have gone with the Democrat side like Mark Cuban.

Elon only went right after the left burned him.

He had the EV market cornered before the left started mandating it. and at least one of the payment subsidies didn't include Tesla. Then you had all the fights over Space X. Biden's FAA making them jump through a lot more hoops than the competition, and California fighting them on all sorts of things.

It makes sense now. I also get the vibe that a lot of white South Africans tend to be conservative because they were not happy about the reforms after Mandela. It is a very difficult topic as South Africa had a brutally racists apartheid system but things haven't been great ever since it ended either.

I'd say it's pretty telling the frequency at which the reasonable right-wingers are posting ITT. Of course, the partisan time-wasters are going full tilt, still. There was a lot more buzz a couple weeks ago from the people actually worth conversing with. I assume a lot more people are realizing:

- we need more of the promised transparency
- we might be doing more harm than good
- we won't know **** until the dust settles
