Except the potus is claiming Elon is "in charge" of DOGE while the WH said that Musk is not a DOGE employee and has no authority. This needs to be clarified
If DOJ is correct, it doesn't need to be clarified. (for the record I have no idea how that would play out)
Now a thought that did come to me is, all records of the agency communications/data/information to DOGE might be subject to FOIA (as a generalization) but there could be claims of executive privilege. But would seem not a part of executive privilege would be communication/data/information generated within each specific agency which gets back to whatever request comes from the President or through DOGE.
I would work the FOIA from the other side, the agency side and you might be able to get similar or the same data, if not more. ????
So... how is the agency handling the requests/orders of the President and discussions as to these orders/requests, and what is the data being generated. The problem is, under how Obama set it up... DOGE really has the legal authority to go right into specific systems, so if they do that... it could become tougher to get all data points.
I'll admit, its probably more tricky than I first imagined. Very cute. But Congress can stop the backdoor which was put in under Obama. Trump is using the tools that were left behind but let's give them time, let them work for a bit... looks like they are trying to get stuff done....
maybe just not perfect. Elon said what I said the other day, mistakes will be made and they will try and fix them.... I think there is talk for political purpose but I also think they are working hard and really are trying their best.
