Might have to move a safety to cb. This why we canāt be dragging our feet in the portal and losing hs db commits right before signing day. Pretty infuriating how you can go from loaded to empty cupboard so quickly. Same feeling with the wr room as the db room. This is the new "business" of college football. It sucks, but it is what it is. Choices are limited. We either pay up, entice some CBs into the Spring portal ourselves, or play with a bad secondary next season. My guess is we pay up. My hope is we don't just say "screw it" and play with a bad secondary next season. McCoy's injury hurt us in more ways than one.
Easy solution to this. Have punishments for violating contracts. Want to bolt after signing a deal or try to get more money? Fine, but either you or the school you're going to are going to pay a buyout.Welcome to the World of College Football players holding teams hostage for more money. Don't get me wrong, pay these guys but leveraging for another bump in pay after already getting one is uncalled for. Hope CJH tells Gibson to kick rocks..
Wouldnāt even try to keep him.Well I didn't know that.
We still haven't had a ton of gold starters leave like that.
This downright sucks. No other way to spin it, unless we can keep him.
They just have to make these guys employees. It's ridiculous.
They might as well if they're going to ruin everything else that has to do with college football.
Letās stops being dramatic for a second here, kid probably got mad at McCoy getting a bigger bag. Bama tried a fade with Ryan Williams on both sides in the end zone. One guy one hand snagged it and took it 50 yards the other way, the other got scored on. Of course thereās a pay differenceāWeāre tampering with the best of the bestā
āStill evaluating, but we should know by the end of the weekā
The problem with that scenario is that it would require an SEC school to fight back against an SEC rule and you can bet that wouldn't go without consequences from Sankey. The SEC schools also like the rule because they don't want other SEC teams trying to poach their players year-round. That's why it's highly unlikely that another SEC program is tampering in this case. All it takes is someone to take that ruling to court (about not being eligible right away in the SEC) and that is thrown right out the window.
I wouldnāt put it past another program to tell him they will get him eligible even if they have to go to court for it
