There's nothing like catching reds. That's my addiction when it comes to fishing. I only get two weeks out of the year to go after them and I make the most of it. I only fish artificials and it's fun to find new lures that I know nobody else is using in that area...I halfway think my good fortune comes from presenting lures they never see. Topwater reds are a ton of fun too. Here's a beautiful red I landed the last time out.

Catching reds on topwater plugs is always fun. Especially the big ones. They torpedo behind the baits and hit it with fury.

If you want a fun, unique bait to try, look for 8-10" GULP eels. Red, cobia, and rockfish candy. More commonly used in the Chesapeake Bay because there's a huge eel population (live eels are common at bait shops too) but I'd bet a red would hit it anywhere. (This fish was 48" between 1-2 miles from shore. Found a huge school migrating North in the spring and went for a ride.)

I got some spots near the coast in Mississippi that are great for reds, specks, and flounder. Now that deer season is over down here, I switch back to fishing. I got a couple spots that are great when they’re running.

You're in the right place. I've got a buddy who guides in Biloxi and also runs charters to Chandelier.

I call that a redneck slam. Red, speck, and flounder (in far right). Whatever its called, ir was fish tacos.

Mosquito Lagoon gets hit, hard. And often. Its a shame, used to be a great place.

You want a gator trout, that's your place.

We have a Chesapeake slam which is red, speck, rockfish, and flounder all in one day. It's a challenge. Closest I've come took me 2 days.

closest i've come to an in shore slam was in NSB. Got the black drum, sea trout. but ironically got onto some Jack's. 20-25 lb range. One of the hardest fighting fish, bar none missed the red though

guess the redneck slam will suffice

Really good player. Comparable to John Olerud amongst his contemporaries.

56 WAR, ~2100 Hits, ~280 HR would be on the low end.

Only played 15 seasons. Had he played 20 - maybe?

He never even got close. Fell off the ballot with less than 5% of the vote.

Hit a homer in his first A game, first spring training game, and first MLB at bats…….

MLB hr was off Nolan Ryan…..

Bobby Thigpen played in OF and also pitched for the Bulldogs. Forgot about Palmeiro as part of the deadly duo with Will Clark.
