I call that a redneck slam. Red, speck, and flounder (in far right). Whatever its called, ir was fish tacos.

Mosquito Lagoon gets hit, hard. And often. Its a shame, used to be a great place.

You want a gator trout, that's your place.

It is. But based on the way the game is called, I’m not even sure the first one is a foul. So, it was basically a net even for Arizona.

One thing that I don’t understand is why they let these guys continue doing back to backs. Shows and Chuck Jones did the Memphis game today at 1:00. Shows was in Nashville yesterday (much easier than some I’ve seen), but his game yesterday didn’t end until probably 5:00. Jones did our game in College Station. I’ve seen quicker turn arounds than that. I’m sure they will be doing Tuesday games. Toward the end of the season at age 45, I would be tired.

Guide grabbed him, got him with the jaw clamp. Measured, handed to me for photo. 39.5 inches. I'd estimate 22-25 lbs in that range, maybe bigger.

I grab him by the tail. Lift up for the camera, one shake of his massive head. Gone.

No photo. Just video, I think this is same fish.

Charted another flood tide outing two late Spring's ago. Reds were scattered. Using floatilla as cover. Picking something off top of water. Difference is, tails up, snouts down. Crabbing gets them excited. Sipping gives their eyes more to work.

Had a double eye infection that week. That 'cleared up' in time for late week fishing. Over the counter polarized fitovers. I nailed em when I could see em.

Getting that hookset on topwater is much tougher than it looks. Hooked 4 fish, one larger than the one in that video. Worst day fishing is better than best day not.

There's nothing like catching reds. That's my addiction when it comes to fishing. I only get two weeks out of the year to go after them and I make the most of it. I only fish artificials and it's fun to find new lures that I know nobody else is using in that area...I halfway think my good fortune comes from presenting lures they never see. Topwater reds are a ton of fun too. Here's a beautiful red I landed the last time out.

We always get a house on the bay with a dock and either fish off our kayaks, the dock, or do a little wade fishing. I haven't fished the surf in over 10 years, we have a lot more luck inshore and don't have to worry about other folks getting in the way.
