LV defense.

The Lady Vols are No. 11 in turnovers forced per game (23.13) and No. 8 in T.O. margin (8.50).

LVs are No. 14 nationally in steals per game (12.1). We now have 13 games of 10+ steals and 290 total in 24 games.

Tennessee has prevented opponents from getting the ball over half-court in 10 seconds a total of 22 times in 24 games. (UT forced only five violations the previous five years combined.)

LV offense

The Lady Vols rank No. 2 nationally in scoring offense, generating 90.4 points per game.

UT ranks No. 1 nationally for 3FGs made per game at 10.8 (259 total) and broke the old Lady Vol single-season record of 242 (37 games in 2010-11) in only 23 contests this season.

The LVs are No. 2 in the nation in offensive rebounds per game at 18.3. We have twice reached 30+ this season.

Going to really be a tough game to win. They are capable of playing as well as any SEC team and have proven that over the SEC season. They can also have a off game shooting and we have to hope that happens today. They just came off beating Arkansas by 39 points and have beaten Vandy twice by double digits. Like us they lost a very close game to Texas. I think were probably in trouble if we can't shoot at least 45 percent today. They are great defensively. Hoping we can at least rebound even with them and win the turnovers by close to ten. Setting our goals at 45 percent from the field, 10 threes made, and plus ten in turnover margin. Free throws for them less than 12. Hopfully finally they have one of their 40 percent shooting games.

This game determines if we finish ahead of them in the standings or not. We lose they will be above us and if we win we have a great chance of finishing higher than they do since they still have SC and LSU to play.

Intriguing game today between Ole Miss and the highly ranked Lady Vols!
Both teams identity is to play aggressive, physical, and fast with their athletes.
Tennessee in year 1 of the CKC era is arguably the most physical team in the SEC. It has become a dynamic that has led to questionable officiating as crews struggle to determine how to referee games with such a fast/aggressive attacking style team defense and throughout the season has caused the LVs on the fly to attempt to overcome this barrier in close games.
If Tennessee is allowed to play fast and physical as they were against then Top-5 UCONN it’s a big win for the LVs on Rocky Top Tennessee!
That’s the gamble this athletic and talented team is forced to play night in and night out!
I don’t think this turnaround in coaching philosophy, team success, and style of play is something we’ll ever see again at the highest level of WBB.
GBO ‘solid’!

Well, however the first three quarters play out, I hope we as fans have learned that these Lady Vols are always capable of pulling out a win in the fourth quarter against tired opposition legs.

This team (and concept) is (alas!) good for character development, in addition to offering a non-sugar, low-carb*, dopamine high by the end of the game.

* though a nice sipping beer is always a good accompaniment

Our offense doesn’t have much play action going on. I’d like to see some more set plays instead of throwing up shots.

Refs are already starting with their BS.

Puckett is just standing there with her hands up and gets called for the foul.

Just unbelievable how bad women's basketball refs are. And the conference apparently doesn't care at all.
