Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Really hoping Barnes can juggle the roster and somehow get the seniors to return for another season. The extra year rule probably won’t pass till a little later

Perfect world for next season would be something like:

PG: ZZ / Clark (rumored transfer)
SG: Gainey / Boswell
SF: Shack / Evans
PF: Igor / Cade
C: Okpara / Estrella / Brown

You still would have two spots left.
Who is Clark?

It’s weird situation, because TB says there’s 3 rumored transfers who all want to come here next season. Apparently they all average 12+ppg.

He’s usually full of it, but it’s an interesting situation.

Do you take those 3 guys or do you wait it out and see if we get the seniors back?

My weird question - do players who aren’t league-ready ever go overseas to play professionally and then try to return to NCAA basketball once their pro chances fade? Are there guys from the past few years who might still have eligibility?

Thinking about players who now realize the NBA isn’t happening—could they go back, work on a master’s, and play in college? What about AAA baseball players—are they still eligible, or does pro experience automatically disqualify them?

I tried Googling this, but it’s not totally clear. It seems like a small number of players could do this since the NCAA often removes a year of eligibility for each year of pro competition. But with amateurism rules evolving (especially with NIL), has this ever been challenged in court? Feels like some of these rules might be outdated.

I got bamboozled by @UTSuave’ !

At least you don’t freak out and basically tell me to go F** myself 😭🤣 others freak out on me..I’m just trying to keep the forum moving until football season…it’s like New York traffic in here until the fall🤣

….but my apologies friend..I’ll cut back on the booz😭🤣🤣

I mean I love me some Barnes and am not on the “fire Barnes” train that some buffoons out there are on. However, until he wins the big one, his legacy will always include “but he couldn’t win the natty”.
**** em....I hate the Idiot Margin.

I don't care if he never wins one or not...we are one of the best programs in CBB annually, and that is amazing to me. Anybody with common sense knows that outside of a few bright spots here and there over the decades, that we were the epitome of pure...Meh.

We are not meh anymore... we are a feared and respected program every freaking year.

Now...back to the shadows..🙋‍♂️

It’s pretty amazing to be a top 10 type team instead of intermittently scrappy.

His wife was probably droning on about her sourdough starter. I've mowed before without even engaging the blades.
🤣. I vacuumed out our dryer vent (inside and out) earlier cause I didn't want to go to the park.

Story time... with TN-POSSUM:

I had a service call one winter at a house out in the county. I pulled up and the old man was laying under their car. I got out and all he said was "she's in the house". I got to the door and told her I was there to fix the internet. She fussed the whole time I was there (about 45 minutes). She fussed about the internet speed, the bill, how long she had to wait on hold, the weather, just everything. After some troubleshooting, I had to go to my van to get a replacement modem. I asked the old man "do you have room for 1 more under there". He said "nope". I don't know how long he had been under that car, but it wasn't over 30 degrees that day. I'm sure to him, that was the "warmest" spot on their property. 🤣
