And one of those wins was against a dominant 16-0 Pats team that everyone believed would be only the second team in NFL to go undefeated. There are people in the HoF who have done less. Eli is deserving to eventually make it, but I'm perfectly okay with him not being a first ballot guy.

Disagree. Eli was a second tier QB his whole career. There were always 5-10 guys you’d rather have than Eli under center.

Oklahoma fans shedding some concerned tears for Fears after seeing the injury report last evening, but there’s a little less conversation regarding his backup, Kobe Elvis. If he’s forced into action, don’t be shocked if Barnes makes a concerted effort to get him all shook up early in the first half in this now-or-never situation for Porter Moser’s club.

I've watched Kobe Elvis play a lot and he's not good. I was happy when he transfered from Dayton and surprised he ended up at a SEC program.

Ive been to several schools. For one, Tuscaloosa and Auburn are nice. Fans were fun, we also beat that ass in 1999.

Vandy doesnt register.

South Carolina would be nice, if it werent in South Carolina, specifically Columbia is poopoo. Its stadium is in a fairground.

Ben Hill Griffin is a nice stadium, interior is definitely unique. And I like that.

That said. Exterior, Campus, Fan Base are exactly what you hear.

1st NFL Draft - First Vol Drafted


After the NFL instituted its waiver system in 1934 to allow teams to pick up available players, Philadelphia Eagles co-owner Bert Bell felt that his team was at a disadvantage in signing top players. Without the monetary advantage that other clubs had, the Eagles and other teams with fewer resources had little chance of attracting impact players.

At a 1935 league meeting, Bell proposed that the NFL hold an annual player draft to level the playing field and make sure that every franchise remained financially viable. League owners voted unanimously to adopt his proposal, setting up the inaugural NFL Draft in 1936.

This first draft was a far cry from the spectacle fans have come to expect today. Held on Feb. 8, 1936, at Philadelphia’s Ritz-Carlton Hotel, clubs selected from a pool of only 90 players. There were no formal scouting departments, no agents and no 24-hour sports media coverage. The list of eligible players was compiled from newspaper reports, visits to local colleges by team executives, and recommendations to front-office personnel.

With the first pick, Bell’s Eagles selected Heisman Trophy winner Jay Berwanger from the University of Chicago. Rather than play pro football, the star halfback opted for a career as a foam rubber salesman. Berwanger’s choice wasn’t unusual — only 24 of the 81 players chosen in the first draft went on to play in the NFL. Most opted for more secure and stable professions, many of which paid better.


In the 4th round, the New York Giants selected Gene Rose, End form the University of Tennessee ............... The first NFL draft pick from Tennessee.

Tuscaloosa is so overrated............IMO

UF stadium is nice, but I gotta say, besides Neyland, I'd rather see a game in Oxford or Starkville. I like the atmospheres at those two schools. More intimate.........

Those 80s Big East Basketball tournaments were more fun to watch than the NCAA tournament. And I could care less who won. Miss those days.
