The Atlanta Braves

Nacho Alvarez is the new Salcedo, Bethancourt, Pache etc. CHANGE MY MIND

I think he's Martin Prado on the high end of his projections and Tommy LaStella on the low end. His OBP skills are legit and he doesn't strike out much. That should translate well to the majors and allow him to be at least a good bench player. But he doesn't have a defensive home.

Tommy La Homers scratched out a fairly not terrible career.

Absolutely no chance he is ever close to Braves legend Marteeeen

Depends on whether the power he showed in AAA is legit or not. He certainly didn't show any pop in his brief stint in the majors though.

Marteeeeen will forever be one of my favorite Braves. I played fantasy baseball in college and either drafted him extremely late or got him off of waivers for like 2-3 years in a row. It was a 12 or 14 team league with huge rosters, so extremely deep. Having a guy who was supposed to be a warm body hit .300+ with 40 doubles was probably the difference between winning and losing the league those years. He even scored 100 runs in 2010.

Those guys never carried close to a .400 OBP ever and Nacho pretty much lives in that range. Weird comps. He’s got work to do but could settle in as a super utility guy and that’s much needed on this club.
The comps are strictly based on let down factor. Obviously.
