LaMelo is a glory hound. But yes, LaMelo is their best player on a 12 or 13 win team this year. Actually I would say Miles Bridges is close to being best player.

My question has nothing to do with what I'd rather see. My question is about the equity of the exchange. Hornets appear to get way more value here.

See the NBA is just kinda dumb. It's interesting, but it's just ridiculous how entire teams reform mid season like that. Especially trading your first round pick like that.

Well it’s easy to reform a team when most teams have an 8 man rotation and there’s only 2 rounds in the draft

Lanier is an elite shooter, but I’m not sure his basketball IQ and instincts are above average.

They are very below average. That is what caps his ceiling. He is an elite shooter, a good athlete and he plays hard. But court vision, instincts, and basketball IQ are below average.

That would be fine if they were actually smart enough to not touch the ball. Provided you don’t foul them they still can’t win the game.

They can, however, tie the game if you turn it over and foul them on a freak three pointer in your own end of the court.
