Recruiting Football Talk VIII

Chop is obvious choice to replace Ek at OLB, but I'm more concerned about special teams. For special teams Jacob Bronowski at Pitt would be a home run hire. He was an analyst for Heup at UCF and Tenn before having some of the best special teams units at Miami University for 2 years.

Chop needs an onfield position but who takes over special teams?

Bronoski is a good find. But I wouldn’t sleep on Joe.

We had articles on both regarding their extensions. Same for Banks.

Which is why i asked about Ekeler since I knew his contract was up 1/31 but hadn't heard nor read anything about him resigning.
Good deal. I shouldn’t comment since I don’t pay for articles outside of free sites and the Athletic.

I'd like to see us hire 11 onfield positions.

We've been using our 11th for an analyst role and splitting duties/titles for a few others.

Halzle is OC/QBs
Ekeler was ST/OLB

So with Ekeler gone I'd like to see Chop get OLBs and then we hire or elevate just a Special Teams coach and have 11 total coaches that can be involved in off-campus recruiting instead of using an analyst for one.

Max Thurmond may get the ST. He's been an Offensive Analyst for us since 2022.

But he was Special Teams and LB at West Alabama, Austin Peay, Charlotte, and Jacksonville State.

Randy Johnson or J.R. Richards.

J.R. was a bad man on the mound...
Bob Gibson. No one dug in against him because they knew he would throw at them. Once hit Pete Lacock at an old timers game because Lacock hit a grand slam off of Gibson in one of Gibby last appearances. He was feared by mlb players

Who the heck is chop again?
He's Levorn Harbin, a defensive analyst.

Who is Tennessee’s Levorn Harbin, SEC's No. 2 paid analyst?

Harbin, known around the Tennessee program as “Chop,” isn’t a typical analyst. And that’s why he has been sought after by other SEC programs for higher-profile positions.

Harbin works alongside veteran defensive line coach Rodney Garner, who has assembled one of the top units in college football and produced several NFL players.

@butchna

Myles Garrett asked for a trade out if Cleveland. How many teams you think will go after him, hopefully Cowboys would be one of those teams..
He would benefit many teams short term…2-3 seasons. But they’ll be asking for a HAUL and the trading partner needs to be equipped.

Thurmond isn't on staff anymore.
