California is complicated. If you leave the corruption there you’re going to have this crap again and again. Voter registration probably doesn’t change it from being a democratic state; it just forces a little more accountability by the elected officials. With competent leadership, this wouldn’t have been nearly as bad.

you guys are doing the same thing as the memes about Californians rejecting the straight while male firefighter saving them from a fire, saying they will wait for the LGBTPQODNUSMDL+ fire person to save them. you are rejecting emergency services based on some political angle.
get the people safe, and taken care of. there is a LONG way to go from getting people shelter, food, water, and putting out the fires, and funding a full rebuild.
play politics when people's lives aren't on the line. I want better.

very difficult to follow this format..please put in a spreadsheet format..TIA.This thread is to monitor the things Trump said he will do while campaigning and during his term. We will update it to show new proposals, progress, and results (or lack thereof). Orange font means a verified promise.
To be accurate, this needs to be a community effort. If someone wanted to make this into a spreadsheet, I'm sure it would be a much better format.
For this, a proposal or promise would be anything offered in a definitive manner ( "I/ we will"..."going to"..."from day 1"...etc. NOT, "we should", "I think", "suggest"... "look into", etc) from Trump. (maybe need to include his cabinet, too?)

The way I was raised you don't look to find blame when the emergency is still going on. You don't have that luxury, it should be everyone focused on one thing. Ending the emergency and helping people.
there are plenty of short term fixes needed. fires are still on going. people are homeless.
Trump is playing politics with people's lives, that is disgusting to me. just like it was disgusting when FEMA and Biden went all "climate change" on the people from NC. I called out Biden for his approach to NC, and I am calling out Trump with his approach to CA.
a week from now, or a month from now or whatever it takes to get the fires under control, people into safe housing, then Trump can get out there and stump. then he can get out there and use these people's suffering for his own benefit. right now its disgusting. He is out there trying to own the libs while people's lives are at stake and damage is being done.
Honest question - what exactly are the “playing politics with people’s lives” actions Trump has taken? I must be missing where he’s withholding aid from CA until some unspecified political change occurs? Seems like he flew out to the disaster area, met with victims and government officials to encourage swift relief actions and elimination of red tape to speed up the process? What am I missing?

It could 100% be Trump running his mouth, while something different is happening. but I don't appreciate the rhetoric. its not helpful, and largely actively harmful imo. a very unforced error.
I thought his trip out to CA was going to be the same/similar to the trip to NC. an easy homerun, but he made it political, which locals don't want; vs focusing on the results. he had a chance to build support and get real change by just being the "good guy" who broke the Democrats hold on the west coast. show them how it should/could be. instead he showed that he was no better than Biden, playing politics.
You may be proven right, but right now it appears a case of TBD. He did show up promptly and met with citizens along with LA mayor & officials to mediate and encourage fast response. The single 10 second news clip appears to be your sole focus of concern and it doesn’t appear to be the whole picture to me?
Idk if you’ve ever been in an emergency situation but you don’t leave a moron in charge. Who’s to blame is very important right now and why they’re to blame. Morons got California into this mess but yeah let’s just give those same morons the money to piss it away on more stupidity. California had the money to avoid this calamity. But yeah let’s talk about how disgusting Trump is when he’s out there trying to get them to release the water to make the infrastructure better where this never happens.

Threatening the liquor supply was a step too far for some B.C. business interests, who pointed out that America has individual vineyards larger than the entire B.C. wine industry. Contrary to boasts from Eby and his officials, the province is by no means capable of producing enough alcohol to meet demand, and there are weirdly cumbersome restrictions on Canadian provinces selling spirits to each other, so a ban on American booze would probably mean heavier reliance on expensive European imports.

Liquor store manager Darryl Lamb told CityNews that American imports are “a huge part of our business,” so a ban on those imports could badly compromise B.C. tax revenue.
“There are massive wine sales, American bourbon is on fire, it has never been more popular. We just had our whisky release and people were lining up at 2 in the morning to make sure they could get their hands on these super rare bourbons,” he said.
“I think what we will end up seeing is more cross-border shopping. If Canadians can’t get their favorite American whiskeys or gins, people will end up going down to Washington to buy that stuff,” he cautioned.
“Also, Alberta is not going to ban these bourbons, so British Columbians are just going to go online and order those products in,” he added. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith has advocated a more diplomatic approach to dealing with Trump’s tariff threats.
“All that money will leave British Columbia. It won’t even affect the Americans because the sales will just move to Alberta. Their healthcare system, their education system, their infrastructure will all benefit from all of those millions of British Columbian dollars moving over to Alberta because Alberta is not going to ban those products,” Lamb glumly predicted.

Been in a couple tornados. had to use an axe to chop up a tree that had fallen on a house trapping people inside. I for dang sure wasn't swinging the axe worried about who was in charge. I was focused on doing what I could to get the people out safely. another tornado I argued with emergency services who refused to use their own axe to clear a tree that had fallen on a road cutting off supplies in and out. me and about 10 other guys physically pulled the trees out the way enough to create a clear lane after emergency services told us it would take a couple days to get a crew out to do the same thing we did in about an hour. that second tornado me and a friend had to shelter under an outdoor pavilion after we made sure all the kids, women, and old were relatively safe inside, I damn sure wasn't worried about leadership with 100+ mile an hour winds whipping at me as a clung to a column. so take your "Idk's" and shove it.
I would have been disgusted if any of the people involved had sat around and looked for someone to blame or to make changes in those situations.
I have a second cousin, or whatever my mom's cousin is to me, that was down in Katrina as an emergency coordinator. he didn't waste his time blaming Bush, the governor, or the mayor. he did everything he could to help people.
you don't sit around and create division and chaos while the disaster is going on. you don't hold relief, or at least talk about withholding it, until your terms are met. People NEED help in that situation, your politics are a WANT, they can wait.
