College Hoops Around The Country [TN opponents, RPI, others]

ok... not too bad but interesting all at home. Not a single road game during preconference (some of these may be neutral court)

Do you bother to actually watch any of these games? Are you just studying what you find when you Google their schedule? It helps to actually watch their games before announcing “they suck”

None of those 3 games were played anywhere near the state of Oklahoma. One game was played in Charlotte NC and the other two were not even played in this country. They were played in the Bahamas.

I mean 0-4 in SEC play sucks.

But from the games I've watched OU seems like a 2 man team (Moore & Fears). 50th net rating on Kenpom but a heavily unbalanced team. 26th offensive rating and 92nd defensive rating (one of the worst in SEC)

I think OU has a very good offense. But playing one of the weaker schedules out of SEC teams has benefited them more than most other teams.

I think they'll figure it out though, just some growing pains adjusting to SEC play. Bama game was the only blow out.

A&M only beat them by 2, at Georgia was a 10 point loss and they came storming back vs Texas (was down 23 at one point in 2nd half!). Their next 4 games will really be telling.

vs South Carolina
at Arkansas
at A&M
vs Vandy

They do appear to be one of the weaker SEC teams this year and I doubt they’re headed for the NCAA Tournament but they’ve got a puncher’s chance to beat anyone on a given night. By most year’s standards they don’t suck. In fact even this year they probably aren’t a suck team in most conferences. They may very well turn out to be a bottom feeding team in the SEC this year. But that says more about the SEC than it does Oklahoma.

0-4 in sec play sucks, but saying that isn't the same as saying Oklahoma sucks.

They're biggest struggle is just winning enough games in league play to make the tournament. I think they could be a low seed that makes noise in March, but they'll have to win 8 or 9 of their last 14 games...with an ability to score every night they'll be able to stay in most games, they proved that last night against Texas.

South Carolina, LSU, Vandy all at home are 3 "must wins"

at Arkansas, at Texas, at Missouri, vs Missouri are winnable games

Everything else would be considered an upset I think...although having Mississippi State at home in between the bulldogs playing A&M and at Bama could make that one winnable as well.

Kim English is not good at drawing up baseline out of bounds plays. Providence with 2 chances with 4.5 and 3.4 seconds left and couldn’t get the ball in bounds cleanly.
Maybe he allowed one of assistants to lead it. It's hard to make that sort of generalization on a small sample of one game. Just a thought

That’s surprising given how consistently excellent Barnes is at that. You’d think he’d have picked up on it.
My impression is we’re not having the same level of success this season on OOB plays. Not bad with it, just not as impressive as some other recent seasons

Been a while since I’ve seen so much crying, whining and complaining in 1 half of basketball, in this Bama v KY game. And the leader is Oats. I bet there are daycare workers feeling as for these refs!
