The Official Tennessee Titans thread IV

I don't get this line of thinking..> Great he went to Tennessee but this is the Pro's.... Like there are very few Vols I would be ecstatic about coming the Titans in the pro's right now...

Darnell Wright, Jennings, McCullough, Bryce Young because they would actually be assets.... McKenzie is about as usual of a GM as Dobbs is a starting QB.....
Sarcastic post from me…….

100+ wins as GM
8 seasons with a .500 or winning record
6 playoff appearances in 13 years
3 division titles
2 NFC championship game appearances
1 Super Bowl appearance
2 NFC #1 seeds

Could do a lot worse.
Which makes you wonder why he would even entertain coming here.... Arthur blank is quietly one of the most hands on owners in the league, but he isn't an idiot. Amy is both

Thing is, they probably won't hire him. My guess is they go the route of who seems more likely to be easily manipulated.

True but one can hope. I just want someone with a proven record in the building. Especially right now where we're at as a franchise.

As a long time Falcons fan, I can say that Blank is a better owner than the Rankin family was and Blank is a philanthropist as well.

We can hope that a strong GM can, and will, change things. I look at the teams with long term success and see similarities. Good coaching, solid QB play, strong GM, and an owner that doesn't meddle much, if at all. Of course normally when a team is winning long term the owner doesn't feel the need to meddle. Other than Jerry.

Should have never been fired him but part of me is thinking Vrabel wanted out anyway.

JRob wasn't his biggest professional ally with some of those dumb decisions on trades/draft, but nail in coffin was Amy hiring a yes man in Ran who had no business holding a GM job

I'll go a different route. This will be the tell-tell of what kind of coach he is. Titans was his first job and he wasnt handed a bad team. Malarkey left because of differences with ownership, not over record. Over time his record diminished, kinda like Bill Battle. He was then dismissed for record. Lets see what he does with a program building from the cellar.

Vrabel took the Titans to heights we had not seen in 10+ years. He is a great coach. I’ll be interested to see how much control he will be given over the roster with the Patriots.

We'll see how good he is I guess. J-Rob didn't do him any favors by drafting guys like Isaiah Wilson and trading away a young superstar WR in the prime of his career.

As dumb as those moves where, there was an owner who signed off on them!

He was the second best coach this franchise has seen in a 30 year window. But yes he was too old school and wouldn’t evolve!

Amy and Titans are so much better off with the guy who was behind Joe Burrow’s development. Oh wait!
He gets a lot of grace because of one skirting the rules clock moment.

I mean week's 1-3 this year should be why he gets more grace..... how many mental and discipline mistakes did Callahan's special teams make.....

Lot of things to pick at Vrabel about offensively, but the mental mistakes and undisciplined special teams was never an issue with him
