I will say that all the hype for both Thornton and Brazzel was just that. They both struggled with getting separation. And both dropped catchable passes on a multitude of occasions.Get some burners at wr and we will be fine
Nobody was scared of this years WRs
I would not be surprised at all if Nico sticks to his original NIL deal for his time at UT. We stepped out and made him the highest paid person in the country, before anyone else. Reportedly 4 years, 8M dollars. Thats life changing money for him and his close-knit family if managed responsibly. In Tennessee with no state income taxes ( BIG deal. I live in NC and it sucks). With responsible financial planning Nico and his family should be set up for the future even if he never plays a single snap in the NFL. By all accounts they are good people too and I am happy for the Iamaleava Family.
Do I think a LOT of star QBs are trying to renegotiate their deals now that Duke is reportedly overpaying a ridiculous $4M per year for their QB? Yes I do. Lots of them. I am glad we havent heard anything about our loaded QB room comcerning the portal. We have 3 QBs in there now that are Elite 11 caliber QBs. Probably the best QB room in the country for the next several years with Brandon coming.
Wanna here a kicker to that story?
My wife at the time ended up leaving me for her second cousin. You don’t know hurt until you see your wife bent over your mower with her cousin. I promise you that.
I do not mind sharing the proof of that tho!
I mean, he's a dudeYeah, I’m drunk. Yo @mrMet wanna meet at the waffle house?
I’m joking. You’re a good dude. I understand why you’d call someone out. Keep on keepin’ on.
Sometimes a cleansing is needed.I can’t hate on squirrel because he made a lot of plays for us. He’s the kind of player that should be a VFL so I hate that he’s leaving.
At the same time, I’m excited about getting someone more dynamic in the slot. The slot should feast in this offense. See Hyatt and Velus. Hopefully Staley brings us some more of that.
When your bio says “I’m just here for the meltdown” followed by “your moms bed” then you drop some b***s**t that you heard from your “donor” friend, you should expect to get scrutinized by other people that have been here for a while lmfao
What a joke
That’s the main thing people are talking about. It’s not depth, talent gap, NIL, it’s play calling and the use of what seems like the same 12-15 plays. It’s truly unbelievable how pedestrian we looked this year. Especially compared to this.
It was tough to watch at times and it is hard to tell on TV if it’s the receivers getting open or if it’s the QB processing and making the right read. Probably a combination of both but I’m not sure. I do know that defensive coordinators in the SEC are pretty good at figuring things out and there is a book out there on how to slow our offense down if you have the talent at DB. Too be fair that’s the case with any offense. Nico just finished his Second Year at Tennessee and his first as a full time starter. He clearly has elite arm talent but that’s not the most important part of being an elite quarterback. I definitely agree with you Doc that he is closer to Milton than Hooker. Milton is on a NFL roster so that’s pretty good. The jury is still out on if he can rise to the level of Hooker but let’s face it, very few ever do. Hooker live was something to see in relation to quick reads and accuracy.I will say that all the hype for both Thornton and Brazzel was just that. They both struggled with getting separation. And both dropped catchable passes on a multitude of occasions.
Also, where were our TEs? Did Kitselman even play against osu? What happened to Staes and Davis? They can all catch passes.
I admit that I was confused by the offense.
