the CFP needs to get rid of the human factor and let a ton of computers decide the teams. There is no way SMU doesn't deserve to be in the playoffs over Bama with two more wins and they way they competed vs Clemson! Bama got embarrased by OU and scored 3 pts two games ago. How could the KNUCKLEHEADS put Bama in over SMU should Clemson win the game???

Also, whoever said the championship games would be lackluster because of the playoffs following them is totally wrong! The last three games today have been some of the best football games of the season easily. It was a great day of football. Glad UT is still in it to win it!!!

If SMU beats Clemson, they deserve to be in, if they lose, they don't. They've beaten no one and lost at home to BYU.

Didn't the committee say the championships game wouldn't penalize the teams in the playoff? How do you penalize a runner up in the ACC when Bama lost 3 games and got embarrased by OU recently. I don't give a **** about the strength of the conference. ACC is still a power 4 conference and the second place team deserves to be in the playoffs with 11 wins. BUCK FAMA!!! SMU showed everyone they deserve to have a shot! They lost on a 50 plus FG to a very good and underrated Clemson team. Don't count out Dabo either. Clemson is a solid team!

No, they said no one would improve or get worse that wasn't playing, in relation to each other. For instance that there was no way for us to jump Ohio State.

Clemson isn’t getting a bye. The four byes will be Oregon, Georgia, Boise State, Arizona St.

I believe they said the conference championships wouldn't penalize teams as well. I was under the impression the conference runners up in the Power 4 wouldn't be left out for losing unless they were totally embarrased or lost 3 or more games. Hell, Bama has 4 losses if they went to the confernce championship. Y'all can argue for Bama all you want. They don't deserve it, PERIOD!!!

I think Ole Miss should have the spot, but SMU doesn't deserve it. Their premier wins are vs a 4 loss Louisville team and a Pittsburgh team that ended the season on a 5 game losing streak.

Every 3 loss SEC contender would likely be 12-0 with their schedule and we know that Clemson got smoked by both SEC teams they played both at the beginning and end of the season.
