Even if he comes back he will be #3 behind Lewis and Bishop at best. Just not a true RB.

I think Baker beats out Seldon for RB3 by the end of next season. Bishop/Lewis will split carries at RB1/2. Baker is a natural RB with exceptional short area quickness and lateral movement. Seldon is faster in the 100m for sure....but 10- 40 yards? Baker is much quicker to those distances and much harder to bring down because his center of gravity is so low at 5ft9in tall.

There's no way. If Seldon can stay healthy, he'll be in the mix for RB1. He was RB2 coming into this season until he got hurt.

This is the worst part of it all.

Bama has no business being in this.
Agreed. But...

Just how impressive do you think Northern Illinois is? Notre Dame isn't impressive in the least.

ND, Boise st, Indiana and whoever wins the Big12 championship, the ACC champ...thats 5 playoff teams out of 12. Almost half, that lined up on a neutral field would get BEAT DOWN by

USCjr
Bama
Ole Miss

Most of those teams would get beat down by 2 or more TDs. A couple would get blown out because they simply cannot move the ball or score vs a decent SEC defense. Not to mention the 3 SEC teams that ARE in the playoffs...any of UT, UGA, or texas would wreck these teams worse than the 3 teams listed above.

The current format with the byes and auto qualifiers is ridiculous. Its better than last years 4 team playoff though, because there are 6 teams with a legit chance to win it all IMO. We can beat any of them if the offense shows up ...but i think Oregon is probably the worst matchup for us. Then UGA second worst.

This is not really true. The o-line has run blocked pretty well all season and pass pro was poor in the beginning due to injuries and inexperience, backs missing protections.
And as for coaching being bad for a while, Tennessee has had some really solid o-lines for awhile, even when we sucked.
the run blocking will always be good. Comes with the type of offense. Pass pro is still weak but nicos legs help the eye test (as they should). He can’t progress through his reads because of poor pass pro. When I helped coach TE/o line we had periods where the RB came in for pass pro. Guess what coach led the drills and let the RB know where to be and the o line slide protection and calls?
Coach friend to Coach Glenn has been 6 years of brutal o line sir.

UT - 54
South Carolina - 0

The undefeated (once tied) Vols played host to 6-4 South Carolina. After a 6-6 tie the week before, the Vols and Gene McEver ran wild over Carolina. In the sloppy mud, McEver ran for 5 touchdowns and 3 extra points (giving him 130 points for the season-leading the nation) and Buddy Hackman ran for 3 TDs in the 54-0 victory. McEver was named All-American and he and Bobby Dodd were named All-Southern!

Carrollton had Buford run game bottled up most of the night. Carrollton won the game and advances to the final.

Side note: Perlotte looked good

I think playoffs should be top 16, no conference championship (what does it prove if Georgia plays Texas over and over?) Top eight of sixteen get home field advantage in first round. BCS picks the rankings so no bias involved.
Individuals still wouldn't be happy, there's no Sunshine in the world of any college football playoff format. Fans are always going be upset.😆

I think you still have to reward conference champs, but I can get behind this. I say Top 16, your top 5 highest ranked conference champs get an automatic bid, top 8 highest ranked teams get home field advantage. And instead of BCS, you go by the AP Poll, which is typically widely accepted and usually accurate. And you seed it accurately. 1 plays 16, 2 plays 15, etc.

As it stands now, the 1 seed looks to actually have the hardest path. Can you imagine being Oregon, going undefeated all year long only to have to play TN/OSU and then, if you win that, you’d have to play either Boise state or PSU/ASU (most likely PSU)?

If only life were so simple

Happy Saturday

December 7, 2024: Examine your life and conditions to discover those things that have outlived their usefulness. It is time to prepare to move forward in the upcoming season of new beginnings. But, you have to leave behind that which will keep you anchored to the past. Allow flexibility to replace rigidity. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

Committee emphases that teams can’t drop. There’s no reason to watch their fake games today. So then they get everyone stirred up that a lil bitty bit of something might happen, if just the right thing(s) happen in the games. So both sides of the mouth talking. Then, the media and fans are suddenly touting theories about what they need to hope for while… watching.

Netted out: today’s games still don’t matter, and three more days of speculation don’t matter. The Tuesday night announcement show doesn’t matter: a waste of time. The almost instantaneous news about what the committee decided will be worth knowing.

No one really believes we will be allowed to host or that Bama won’t be special-privileged in as the sole 3-loss pre-Madonna. They has that great first quarter back in September, ya know.

Forgetting about NDs win at A&M?

Also all 3 of those teams have 1 thing in common- absolutely horrendous losses against conference bottom feeders. If they want to complain about not being in the playoff they should’ve taken care of business and not lost to Kentucky, OU, and Vandy.

Perfect situation for us for Saturday's games...

22 UNLV upsets 11 Boise State (UNLV would 100% be seeded behind us and Boise State would drop out of the playoffs)
Army beats 17 Tulane (just to be safe that 2 group of 5 conference champs don't sneak in...other than Boise Tulane is the highest rated G5 team still in the mix)
18 Iowa State vs 16 Arizona State (honestly doesn't matter winner is going to most likely be seeded below us regardless)
3 Texas beats 7 Georgia (if Georgia wins then both teams likely are seeded ahead of us, Georgia loses and there's a chance they with 3 losses fall behind us)
1 Oregon beats 4 Penn State (just need Penn State to get dog walked they're only in this game out of sheer luck and weak schedule)
12 Clemson upsets 9 SMU (a 3 loss ACC champ that just lost to a 3 loss SEC team won't be seeded above us, SMU wins and they will get a top 4 seed)

I actually think SMU will beat Clemson... and with the BS top 4 going to conference champs regardless of record that might be the better outcome...cause we know SEC/BIG 10 champs are the 1 & 2 seed regardless of who wins...SMU and Boise State would be the next 2, but if either loses I think Big 12 champ gets one.

Ohio State and Notre Dame would be the only 2 at large teams I could see getting seeded ahead of us...I know people don't think conference champion losers will be punished...but I just don't think a 2 loss Penn State, 3 loss Georgia, or a 2 loss SMU would stay ahead of us in seeding so that's why I'm wanting the above outcomes.
Better put your cup on 😡

You cannot think. Take any shred of logical or reasonable thought out of the fray. Insert absolute BG10 bias, and include in that a dash of G5 entitlement. Shake all that up, and without a plan, or any rules, open that gullet and force it down to no consequence.

Have always posted and agree with this. It just makes much more sense. Then add real analytics to determine the ranking and they have the best possible conclusion.
