a nice, fun, little law by Lincoln that made indentured servitude enforceable. But I guess its ok to have a system just like slavery, as long as you use a fancy term like "indentured servitude".

there is also a reason it was repealed not too long afterwards either. but because Lincoln was shot all of his issues are just overlooked.

Wow that's a stretch. So yeah I guess offering jobs to people to perform labor most Americans won't is exploitation.

it is when you get to pay them less, don't pay full taxes on that employment, and give them far worse treatment than you could a citizen.

if they had to treat the migrant workers like citizens there would be a lot fewer places hiring them. that is 100% exploitation, they aren't paying them less and treating them worse out of the goodness of their heart.

You have any clue how things work? Some pretty big outfits that contract all over the US hire undocumented labor. Auburn football bleacher flooring was resurfaced by undocumented labor,or about 50% were undocumented. That supposedly made the same salary. How did that happen you ask? Well the contractor subcontracts a legal worker who supplies all the undocumented workers needed. Everybody knows what's going on, everyboby.

just because its legal doesn't mean it isn't exploitative.

usually either the laws are set up to be exploitative, or companies quickly figure out how to exploit them.

there is a reason red tape is the death of small companies, and the boon of mega companies.

And the legal person providing all the undocumented help is breaking the law

You're trying to make the boldened into some kind of deflection. The people that killed Christian/Newsome should not have done what they did. Ibarra should never have had any facilitation* to remain here illegally to have the opportunity to do what he did. That's not some minor distinction.

*He showed up and was paroled and released at the border. He was apparently arrested while in NY and he was still here to kill Riley. Even if, IF, one wanted to argue in the abstract there's no way to keep out every illegal (kinda goes along with the "illegal" part) it should still be an absolutely the point of immigration to control/vet entry. This has not only not been happening here but went backwards under the current administration. (someone can post Mayorkas actually bragging about gutting immigration policy)

If the Trump administration were to play a significant role in a peaceful end to the Ukranian war within, say, three to six months after inauguration, would you consider that a failure because he did not do it within 24 hours as stated in a campaign speech?

Nope not a failure but not what he said he could do. And said he would do before his Inauguration.

But tRump will do no more than cut aid to Ukraine. As for a peaceful end what is you definition of peaceful?

You realize of course that that's an invalid comparison. Bush wasn't negligent in allowing the 2007 killers into the country and moving them to Knoxville. And most Latinos and Asians in the US aren't illegals so it's not prejudicial to them.
