Point of order (not a criticism): Heupel dropped 52 on Saban while he was ranked #1 in one poll. And in particular we crushed Saban's specialty: his DBs. Never forget.

I'm join you in being confident we have the better defense. Comes down to whether Bama is allowed to hold like last year imo. Have to hope we don't get terrible red zone calls like we did on offense in the first half last year, too.

I am a little anxious about missing Pili as heart and also as signal caller. But let's f'n go, Tellander! And Arion has been solid and is extremely talented. I did feel safer with Pili as Milroe's nemesis if he tries to scramble up the middle. I guess Arion and Telander will share the green dot helmet tomorrow, in some fashion.

Feel so good about our DL I didn't even mention them. So pleased with our secondary too.

My worries before the season started, officiating and OL, are still my biggest worries.

We get to see Mike Matthews return kickoffs, it looks like, in addition to WR.

The Neyland crowd is the best crowd! LFG!

Vols: A million-ty eleven!
Bama: sucks
Game day is here!
Go Vols!

15-1 🤠

That would be your mom.

Are you feeling better buddy?

Maybe I missed when it was effective, sorry. Just remember it being swallowed up immediately.

NCST 17 yards @ 1:50 remaining 1st Qtr
NCST -1 yards @ 0:52 remaining 2nd Qtr
NCST 21 yards @ 0:43 remaining 3rd Qtr

The first shovel was great.

The second time was swallowed up immediately, just as you said. I think the MLB was spying Sampson.

The third time Sampson is met at the line and spins away from the defender and breaks a long run. So some people thought it was just an great run on his part, but that the play was not open (like the second time). But, if you watch the reply, you will see that the play was wide open but Cooper missed his block.

A lot of people were arguing both ways about the second and third shovel passes in that thread.

Note: I think a lot of the frustration may have been because the second time immediately followed a big run that was called back on a late holding penalty. The third time was immediately following a Nico scramble and long TD pass to Staes that was called back for ineligible receiver (Dayne Davis) downfield. That called-back TD was bs. Davis had no bearing on the play and he was very near the line of scrimmage. The announcers thought so too.

I heard a stat yesterday that so far Nico has an lower adjusted accuracy than Milton had last year. Even if true, one could look at # of career starts to make the comparison invalid.
