For those of us who grew up listening to John Ward and Bill Anderson……everyone else is fighting for second place

I spent a lot of Saturdays with the TV down and dad's old wooden cabinet stereo turned up. It had 2 8" woofers in it and it would thump. John Ward, Neyland Stadium, and Rocky Top always sounded so good coming out of those speakers.



We were out running are tonight and I was listening to John Wilkerson call the Catholic game. I had heard him a few years ago and didn't think he was very "smooth" announcing football games but he sounded much better tonight. I'd be very happy if him and Jayson Swain (or another VFL "homer") took over for Kesling. Preferably, within the next couple of seasons.

I wonder what the back story will be on this sudden retirement after having signed a contract extension during the offseason.

Bennett blaming NIL was lame. It's been years now. And it was in place when he accepted the extension (at least someone said he had been extended). And you certainly don't do your team like that at the last minute over a 3-4-year-old court ruling.

Maybe he was trying to handoff the job to an assistant, since a search is not very practical at the last minute. Idk. But that is sort of underhanded. IDK.

He's given no effort on so many plays. At least Campbell makes up for the bad plays he sometimes generates. Heard could be forgiven if he showed even a teensy amount of fight.
