2024 Presidential Race

This is probably the most cogent argument for voting for Trump that I have heard in this entire election cycle.

With the wings of each party controlling policy, perhaps a little national gridlock is what we need right now.

There is no parties, there is one coin with two sides. Trump (isn't on the coin) getting elected will not save this country because its beyond repair. Gridlock at this point does not save this country.

If Trump wins the popular vote.. Is he still a threat to democracy?
This poll says Kamala is up 5 pts nationally. That seems like a lot considering the poll also said:

  • Trump (54%) leads Harris (44%) among independents who are likely to vote, widening the 4-point edge Trump (50%) had against Harris (46%) previously.

I'm sure they'll no longer support doing away with the filibuster
The mischievous person in me would wait until after the election and during the lame duck session before the new Republican majority is seated, introduce a bill to eliminate the filibuster, and force the democrats to vote AGAINST what they have called for for years 😂

Looking at that Marist poll more carefully, the first thing that jumped out at me was that this poll said that Trump was up 10 pts with independents. That didn't seem to jive with a Kamala 5 pt lead overall. So I looked at the party affiliation of likely voters. They polled Democrats at a 7 point advantage, 40%-33%. In 2020 Dems had a one point advantage, 37%-36%. I doubt Dems will have anywhere near that sort of advantage given that the enthusiasm for Trump from Republicans is far greater than the Dem enthusiasm for Kamala. But I will say this, if Dems get a 7% advantage in turnout, yeah, they will definitely win. I just doubt that they can pull that off

I think this poll is great news for Trump. He lost independents by 13 pts to Biden. If he is anywhere near a 10 pt advantage among IND against Kamala, he's golden

2020 demographics of the electorate:

Seems easy, you didn't poll the cemeteries.

They better have a gag all lined up. My bet is they do. They've known that Kamel Toe will poll worse than the Ice Cream man, they knew that back before the switch. (see my posts from July)

And they would be wrong about that too.
Yeah, he didn’t win an outright majority; but those goofy parliamentary style rules allows him to horse trade enough to build a coalition (with established parties that thought they could control home 😳)

He was appointed Chancelor, he never won an election.

Well, his party won enough seats then indeed is indeed a more correct statement. He was able tonforce Hindenburg to appoint him.
The point unwanted to make was that he came to power absolutely legitimately which is the argument the looney left will use to justify their implacable opposition to Trump (who as we all know, they see as LITERALLY Hitler 2.0)

Good policy can't save this country, but bad policy can destroy it.

Its already destroyed, we're playing pretend.... hopefully the illusion lasts for a few more decades so I can live out my life in relative peace, but I have doubts we have that long.

Another reason to wish success to Elon Musk. The Martian Repulic might be our only safe place one day.
