I just think it takes away from the game. The majority of the time, the FCS team is going to get boat raced. Sure, you get an occasional upset, but mostly it's an easy victory for the FBS team. I like the idea that ALL FBS schools should have to have tougher schedules.

Ya, there would be no FCS teams if not for FBS teams paying a huge chunk of their athletic budget.

Unrelated, rewatching the NC State game a bit as I start cutting highlights from it...

The INT Nico tossed was a bad play call and a worse decision.

We had just 2 WRs running routes against their 3 man front, NC State dropped everyone in zone and didn't blitz... we kept 2 TEs and the RB in for pass protection. Nico should have either ran or thrown it away and move to the next play.

Sounds like someone messed up a choice route somewhere if that’s the case.

Our extreme spreading out of the defense makes it much more difficult to hide blitzes.

It’s also near impossible to hide blitz or any unconventional defensive sets when going against a turbo speed offense.

Chewing the clock out game plan never works for these teams. I will say it sure is annoying as hell though lol

We are now first for the collective system and revenue sharing. Tell me how much has it really helped? The same teams round out the top 10, and we usually finish 10-13.

So essentially, they want us to pay more for the same recruiting results.

Like you, and others have said the big programs will follow suit, so we really don’t have any major advantage over those teams….again.

Should have waited till we made a playoff run (results) and no one would be complaining about this.

We are now elite and about to make the playoffs. Before NIL we were averaging 6 wins for like 15 years in a row.

Yeah I agree but gotta support the little guy as well. There should be a max of 1 per year per FBS team

Not NIL like most want to believe. We have a coach now unlike Butch and Peanut Head.

We do not land Nico Iamaleava without NIL and the Vol Club/Spyre. Bama would have offered him one of their 400k bag man deals and a brand new Dodge Challenger and he goes and plays for Saban.

Exactly my thoughts… getting hammered by Georgia, Bama or Texas at Neyland and not winning or at least being in championship games and this won’t go well. They want this they need to be expected to win and recruit at an elite level. No excuses

This is pure stupid ...There are TWO ******* teams out 1*******30ish in a title game.

We have a contender...there are 7-8 other teams as good or better than us that also pay great money with awesome traditions and everything else associated with winning.

I am glad that after 20 years of being dregs..we have FINALLY returned to being one of the few contenders.

That already exists, I believe. Each FBS team is allowed to schedule one FCS team. I liked the idea of having an FCS opponent for the Spring game rather than the regular season. Then the regular season could be all FBS games.

We sponsor 20 sports (9 male, 11 female) and what I can't figure out is why we have 0 sales for so many, are we not allowing public viewing or what?

Also alarming IMO...Rowing a sport with 0 ticket sales is costing the second most in student fees behind only Football.

Rowing has essentially no "home games" they compete in the big 12 with a lot of travel.

Devils advocate: paying more doesn’t guarantee you will win at an elite level. See a&m the last few years, you gotta . And look at some of the nfl teams that overpay quarterbacks and free agents

This is how businesses (yes, collegiate athletics too) brainwash people. Making people think their product is elite or more elite to the competitors b/c you are paying more for it. Phones and clothing is what comes to my mind first.
