Recruiting Football Talk VIII

I think you’re just over simplifying the term processed when it comes to food. Most all people refer to processed as items with high fructose corn syrup, food coloring, artificial flavors, natural flavors etc (all made from a lab)

Anybody with a shred of brain capacity knows what processing in when it comes to meat
You'd be surprised how many people have different definitions from you. In fact I've never heard of anyone saying HFCS equals processed, and I've been in the food industry for a long time. The most common definition I hear is "lots of preservatives, sodium or otherwise."

Just goes to show that everyone has a different definition.

Surely can't hurt. Especially outdoors. That Vita D does wonders...as does being in nature. I know I always gain clarity and peace walking outdoors. Did an hour yesterday by the French Broad River and over to a bar by the water. Just sat and sipped water. It was a revelation just being still there under the trees.

But I can walk 30 minutes a day around our plant...I feel worse...maybe the whole work thing đŸ€”đŸ˜„

Don’t take away my statin.
Huge family history of cholesterol and heart attacks.
Been on atorvastatin since I was 36. At 61, my cardiac arteries are 100% clear of any plaque.

That’s why I can handle the stress of being a Volunteer. Also can handle the joy of achieving

16-0 đŸ€

Same situation. My father and 2 of his 1st cousins all had heart attacks in their mid 50's. My father lived lived a few more years and had another which he didn't survive.

I went to the Doc and had mine checked and it was well over 200. Meds got it down. Went off of them to see if a better diet and exercise plan would help. It didn't. Numbers jumped back up.

Been on meds for 25 years with no issues.

I choose not to do meth but whatever you choose to do is up to you
. I was talking more in general

My kids youth church group for example..

1.a person fell out of a raft while white rafting
 no more white water rafting.
2. a person broke an ankle skating
.. no more roller akating

we can’t ride in the back of truck around cades cove.

we have four foot high plastic scoots instead of slides at the park.

My mom use to dress up the kids like they were ready to disarm a bomb while riding their bike with training wheels on her drive way.

The list goes on and on.
Exactly!

Titans look pretty good. Won't lie. Still think Levis is not the answer, but he didn't look bad.
They are a QB away still IMO. Just hope they don’t fall for Prime’s BS or the goof ball in Athens. Be nice if the can wait it out for Nico, but that means the current staff would be fired by then so idk. Mayo boy is a fraud, saw it up close and personal in college.

Bored and feverish for the past few days and I was considering our matchup this weekend. I’m not entirely familiar with how the books work at D1 ADs like ours so someone with better knowledge please clear this up for me.
So, this weekend is obviously a pay for play game for us. I’d say we’re probably paying UTC at least $600k or more going by what Bama paid them last year. A thought occurred to me though, we’re both under the University of TN System, correct? So isn’t this like when major corporations move money around different divisions to show a loss? In other words, are we basically paying ourselves to get a win?

Yah. Technically speaking anything that is done to a food makes it "processed".

One good simple description I've seen is actually a question.

"Does the food you buy have ingredients? Or are they ingredients?"

As someone alluded to earlier, the center of the store will generally have pre-processed, pre-cooked, prepackaged foods with long ingredient lists that we can't pronounce. Then you have the vegetable section. Meat section. Etc... (And even they have been sprayed and treated with God knows what...)

Do you buy lots of whole ingredients and make recipes? Or do you buy Hungry Man TV dinners, Velveeta cheese products, and noodle kits with seasoning powder?

“Highly processed foods are foods that have been altered to include ingredients like fats, starches, sugars, salts, and hydrogenated oils”

In regards to HFCS, when the main foods they’re in are fast food, cereal, artificially sweetened dairy products, candy, soft drinks, it’s a processed item lol

“But he didn’t look bad.” He was 11/13 for 153 yards at 84.6% completions.

Yes, it’s the preseason, but to say “but he didn’t look bad” is silly lol

We live in a bubble wrap society
Live life to the fullest and have fun. None of us are making it out alive.

Agreed. The social benefits of sports, including football, far outweigh any associated risk. Being involved in sports typically improves a person's ability to be a healthy blend of a competitive and socially acclimated person.

Sports also helps create bonds between people who would normally never have anything in common and helps promote social acceptance. I truly believe that sports is probably the most influential reason for the decline of racism.

Fluke injuries resulting in death are tragedies but are uncommon enough to be shocking. They should cause more research and improvements to safety but not keep people who want to be involved from participating.

IMO, sports are great in a similar way that military service is in building brother/sisterhood between people from different backgrounds. Different level of bond but sports bonds are more accessible and widespread with a fraction of the danger.
