BOOOOOOM!!!

As predicted, we just landed 2026 5* QB...no1 overall player on 247...Faizon Brandon
He plays HS ball at Greensboro Grimley in NC!!! Another NICO to likely play after young George McEntire. His stats last season as a junior playing 4A ball are ridiculous. 4A is highest division in NC....

Those stats were as a sophomore. Right? He'll be a junior in 2024-2025, a senior in 2025-2026, and a Vol in 2026.

NOBODY. Next season when we start camp in August we will have THREE 5*QBs plus high 4* and Elite Eleven competitor Jake Merklinger. All 4 QBs were top 10 passers in their respective classes. Nico and Faizon are both ranked the no1 QB and no1 overall recruit.

Insane. Tennessee has never had a loaded QB room like this. Ever . GO VOLS

But the obvious question in the room. How do we KEEP them all. If they are as good as their stats indicate they are starters as sophomores or no later than junior so how do we manage to keep them all?

I'm pretty sure I remember hearing that Jake Merklinger didn't go to the Elite Eleven. That was one of the excuses used by the recruiting services for not having him ranked as a 5-star guy.

An abundance of talent and the portal won't work well together. I continue to think college sports as we know it is on the path to self immolation. At the rate the lunacy is going, we boomers should be able to sue for damages because we didn't get paid enough when we entered the workforce all those years ago.

A couple of things people need to figure out is that just because you can do something doesn't mean you should. And as things change regarding rules and customs, it doesn't mean they should be retroactively applied to the past. To do so is just nuts; it's especially true when the changes haven't even been proven to pass the common sense or acceptability tests.

I saw he was invited IIRC...guess he was just tired of camping and already knew he was gonna be a VOL? Maybe I am thinking about the big NIKE or AND1 camp instead. Regardless, JM is the lowest rated QB we will have on roster next season...and he was still a high 4*.

The most likely scenario I see, barring a bad injury at QB, is Nico starts this year and 25....GMac leapfrogs Jake and takes over in 26. (Jake M transfers closer to home in Indiana/Iowa?) GMac starts his junior 26 season and 27....then Brandon starts his junior and senior seasons after 2 years in practice, weights, nutrition etc just like Gmac did before him. This is the most desirable outcome IMO...Nico redshirt then 2 year starter before NFL, Gmac 2 years growing before 2 starting then NFL, lastly Brandon 2 years growing before starting 2 seasons then NFL. WOW. This is totally possible and likely....it will mean we have 6 consecutive seasons starting a seasoned non-freshman 5*QB that is coveted by everyone in CFB.

Unbelievable QB room from now on. Its like having Peyton, Shuler, and Hooker back to back from the same QB room. Not discounting Jake...by all accounts the coaches are pleased with his development too...maybe hes the Casey Clausen (huge compliment. The Road Warrior was a BEAST).

The combination of running a wide open offense that puts QBs in the NFL with Coach Hype being a Heistman finalist QB himself that won a championship is apparently HUGE In recruiting. Nobody has a better QB room than we do IMO. Literally nobody in college ball. GO VOLS WGWTFA

No. I'm not even a fan of peanut butter M&M's. Tried them once - not impressed.

You just don't screw with something proven. M&Ms are in a class of their own as are some other kinds of candy. Unfortunately marketing and management just can't resist the urge to screw with them. My take is these guys for the most part don't really add anything to a smooth running operation, so they diddle around trying to justify their existence. Another spin on FAFO.

The thing is that some of those guys will defect due to lack of playing time - if all are even signed. The timing of the defections might well leave gaping holes. For instance, we all plan for Nico to have a great year this year, but in reality this is his first year as a starter and there are likely growing pains. We could have years of "first year" QB starters in store if guys leave early for the NFL ... and the next projected QB may in the meantime have portaled on to our competition. Saban was probably wise to retire when you consider the future and roster management. I admit I see doom where a lot of others see opportunity, but one person's good fortune often happens because of another's misfortune ... and rarely do we plan to be the unfortunate one.
