Charlotte Traffic affected by Busy Trump Rally: What to know​

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A large turnout at a Charlotte rally for Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday led to somewhat chaotic conditions in and around the venue.

Severe traffic delays were reported on Independence Boulevard the afternoon of Wednesday, July 24 around Bojangles Coliseum, where Trump is scheduled to speak at 6 p.m. Drivers should expect to experience delays in the area, including on eastbound NC-16 between I-277 and US-74.

A handful of calls related to overheating were made Wednesday as Trump supporters packed inside for the rally. First responders reportedly responded to eight calls, which included two cases of people being rushed to the hospital with minor injuries.

At around 2 p.m., the Bojangles Entertainment Complex announced all that designated parking lots were at capacity.

I hold POTUS to a higher standard than I would to you or me, but I do hold the same standard for everyone as to how they treat people and handle conflicts. There's some pretty defined distinctions within that standard too. It can't be viewed through a binary lens
