2024 Presidential Race

I admit he is a narcissist. I don't care either because he is... will be a better president on his worst day than Biden is on his best.
That's debatable, but even deferring to your opinion isn't saying much. Neither Trump nor Biden should have been anywhere near the White House. I think you're a little older than me so you should half-ass agree. My Dad is 103 years old. My mother is 98. My Dad served 25 years in the Air Force. He served in WW2, Korea and Vietnam. My mother was a lifelong educator and then healthcare executive. They both roll over in their graves at our choices for POTUS now. It's not exclusive from their generation either. That is/would be the sentiment from the greatest generation

Definitely waiting for some leftist crazy Karen from 17 years ago that can’t remember anything and has no witnesses whatsoever, come out and accuse Vance of raping her.

The Democrats are on the verge of getting mopped! They are gonna pull out all their old tricks.

Edit: Kinda funny I said the democrats are gonna pull out all their old tricks and the post above is about Hillary running for Prez 😂
The other side is always the one with the crazues on forums like this. Have you seen video from January 6th at the Capitol? Trump is going to pardon those losers.

The role of the Vice President was already just one of procedural formality, during the process of certification of the electoral college vote. JD Vance is a clown for saying otherwise.
But it wasn't as precedence was set prior, example given previously. But you don't agree with them but they were legit enough to require it being changed to a formality. So now it just dumb to even talk about or bring up

Post the Link to where he said he was going to pardon those losers.
I've missed that information somewhere if true or the loony left made that up..

You aren't going to bring up Hawaii from 1960 are you? That is absurd.

The language was strengthened, but nothing was changed. It was never possible for the Vice President to refuse to count electoral college votes during certification. Such a possibility would have been completely inconsistent with a democratic system of elections, as the Vice President will often have also been on the ballot.

Now, of course in the land of MAGA loons, these people are not losers at all, but instead they are Real American Heroes and Freedom Fighters. Trump said he would pardon "a large portion of them."

So you admit it was done prior..there are further things that needed to be done in order to work..which wouldn't have happened..but it was possible....and it was changed to include that the process of a formality which removed the power from a VP to initiate the process..I'm sorry that hurts your feelings...

Completely agree with JD here.

You can't argue with the logic, but per Reagan aide James Cannon ... President Ronald Reagan was allowed to serve out his last year in office even though it was in the role of just a figurehead. He was no longer responsible for anything but photo ops. Reagan mostly just watched television.

^^^^ There it is. ^^^^

"JD Vance says that he wouldn't have certified 2020 race until states submitted pro-Trump electors."

It is completely fair to ask him if Kamala Harris has this same authority. JD Vance is a loon.
Well, he is going to be in the Executive Branch for the next 12 years. You better get used to him 😂

No, it wasn't done prior. The situation in Hawaii in 1960 was nothing like 2020 at all. You are wrong. It was not possible. The role of the Vice President in the formal process of certification is strictly procedural. That makes no sense. Al Gore did not have the authority to overturn his own defeat in 2000. Neither did Pence. That is so stupid.

In Hawaii in 1960, there were still recounts underway. The vote had not been certified. It's nothing like what Trump tried to do.

JD Vance should be asked if he thinks that Kamala Harris has the authority during the formal process of certification, to refuse to count electoral college votes from states she loses in November. JD Vance did claim that Mike Pence had that right on January 6, 2021. It's a totally fair question to ask of him.
Not as issue as she would have to count up to at least 270. I believe she has trouble with numbers larger than 12.

Yes and as we have previously argued there were court cases in both....the validity was in question in court...I'm sorry you disagree. But if it was formal all along there was no need to change it.

No, there wasn't a court ruling that was going to possibly grant the Vice President the right to cast aside electoral college votes. You are dead wrong. Nothing but some language was changed. That is an absurd argument to base your logic on. This is one of the dumbest arguments I've ever had on here. It does not make sense that a Vice President would have had the power to overturn the outcome of his own defeat. That completely goes against the fundamental principles of a democratic system of elections. A candidate can't change the outcome of his own election. Good lord.
