Nothing has been debunked until the foia emails between Trump’s detail and the agency come out, which I’m sure will be requested.I personally think the two main failures are:
* SS failure to secure the rooftop.
* Local law enforcement failure to communicate either citizen or their own concerns that something was going on such that Trump at least ought to have been moved away until it was figured out.
But the notion that it was purposeful, or that Trump was denied adequate resources in the form of SS protection sought and denied, has been debunked at every turn and frankly comes across as an attempt to turn negligence on the scene into some sort of planned malevolence by the DHS or Biden administration itself, and it makes you look silly.
we are to just blindly believe the gov't.

oh the fbi "cant get info out of his phone" ... yet no problem tracking down every grampa and grandma in dc on 1/6I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but there are just way too many things that don't add up.
A perfect "lone assassin" with a mixed political background to make everyone uncertain of motive
A mixed crew of normal SS and temporary ones
Delegating the most obvious sniper positions to local law enforcement
No overwatch on the water tower
No overwatch on the adjacent building
Receipt for bullets on the "lone assassin" or in his car
Bomb material in his car with a remote detonator
Spotted by citizens but the SS did not remove Trump even if to temporarily assess the info
"Lone assassin" picked the perfect section of the roof so that SS will have an obscured view through the trees
Pathetic and non-sensical excuses from SS about the roof
Several shots taken before SS kills the assassin
I really hope this is just multiple examples of gross failure by all involved, but the more information that comes out the worse it appears.
I always thought it would be a death sentence to show up open carrying an assault rifle anywhere near a president. I assumed if you were spotted on a rooftop with a rifle, during a presidential event, you would be eliminated immediately.
What I know is he got shot. Clearly this was gross incompetence at best. Heads should roll. And no, I don't expect Trump to say a negative word, these people are still protecting him. It's like when Hillary was asked about Chinese human rights abuses and she replied that it's hard to criticize your banker.Has the Trump campaign actually said this happened -- that they asked for more SS agents and did not get them?
Nope. And they would have, if it were remotely true.
Fact is, there were mistakes made and they need to be corrected. But Trump and the campaign are fans of the SS and appreciate what they do, and are not willing to imply they ought to be scapegoated any more than the correct criticism of mishandling this situation as it evolved.
The sniper had eyes on him. He must've seen him train the gun. He should've never been able to shoulder the rifle, let alone fire between 3-9 shots.Me, too. Personally, I think the issue is that they weren't sure whether the guy was a local law enforcement official and the locals weren't sure he wasn't SS. When the local climbed up and he pointed the gun, it was too late as shots were fired immediately thereafter.
Now, the failure there is to allow the lack of certainty to go on and create the risk. As soon as either locals or SS got word something was unusual, Trump should have been removed from the stage until it got resolved. That, to me, is the real failure here.
