Don't play along, UTVOL, Trumpers like Majors make it their mission to twist statements into things you never said. It's called smear posting. I tend to be one of his favorite targets for that. The tactic is the first cousin of their other strategy of Divert, Dismiss, Deny, and Lie. Playing along is getting you to defend something you never said, thus dragging you farther and farther away from what you actually did say.Oh good grief I'm not defending I'm just saying a $20 donation years ago means almost nothing. I'll spend more today on dumber stuff than that
Again, past money means almost nothing. You couldn't tell a thing about my priorities with old receipts. About as useful a EL posting the shooter's a registered RepublicanThats great. I said “Show me where your political money goes, and I’ll show you your priorities.” Have fun on your Sunday Funday.
I agree with what you’re saying, but I don’t think that mindset would typically apply to something like the SS. I imagine they’ve changed their hiring practices to be more inclusive and to have people that have zero business being in those roles. When Trump was getting back in the motorcade, there was one female SS agent that struggled pulling her gun out, and then struggled putting it back in. She is clearly not cut out for the role. And I’m not saying that women can’t be SS agents, because I’m sure there are some that would be incredible, but this agent has zero business protecting anyone.Didn't the SCOTUS say official acts couldn't be persecuted? On a more serious note, the decline in taking pride in one's work, and focus on quality has been going on for decades now. We see it everywhere. The Boeing mess, amusement park rides, shrinkflation, dealers bending rules to sell cars brought to them for repairs, and keeping your money to boot, lawmakers stealing public funds to put into their own pockets or pay for facilities for a community; or direct it to districts not part of their service area, and so on. So I'm not surprised when the SS doesn't do the necessities to protect those they are assigned to protect. People of all professions these days, just don't REALLY give a dayum, and we're seeing the results.
Too many people yelling to law enforcement and SS about the shooter and his location in plain view of sharp shooters for this to just be incompetence. Maybe their ROE have been altered and they were told they couldn’t shoot unless someone else fired first. And surely SS use drones to observe the crowd/surroundings as well. This guy was too easy to spot.
We don't see eye to eye, LSU, but I have to agree with you here. In this day and age with amazing drones, including some that are literally bird and insect sized, this was preventable. What's so strange isn't much there that is a threat, its not like its in right in town... there is a water tower further away but there really wasn't much to monitor up high.
Very avoidable for sure.
Tennessee has open primaries. No party registration. Anyone can vote in whichever primary they wish. It’s not uncommon for liberals to register as republicans so they can vote against a candidate they don’t like in the primaries. I remember that happening here in Knox County a few years ago for some school board candidates. They voted in the primaries to keep a lady (Sherri Garrett I think) from being the republican choice in order to get Steve Tripplet as the official Republican candidate because they thought he’d lose once it came out that he had stolen from a private school. The liberals were openly bragging about it.
