That was a huge discovery. I'm sure it led to a lot more discoveries in medicine and and inventions by people who would've been dead.
Seems like a lot of the major jumps come after a new form of communication comes around. More & easier access to better information.
I'm still blown away by how pretty much everything relating to today's computers work. It's amazing we can regulate and access information on such a tiny scale like in ssd/microchips. It's pretty wild when you start to understand how it works. . . even the computer mouse is incredible.
