4th in ERA...and IIRC separated from 1st by .07 which basically means that over the whole season we gave up maybe 2-3 more earned runs than Arky 🤷‍♂️....SO...pretty much as big of a strength of the team that a strength of a team can get.

To make this easier for your football tuned brain...if our football offense is top 5 and our defense is top 5...we wouldn't say that ourdefense was a/the weak link would we?
I didnt realize era is that big of a metric. Why are some people crying about it so often? Seems like we've been pretty good at it all year.

I wish I knew which AI to invest in. I don't think we can stop the train now and it looks like it's gonna change the world more than electricity or maybe even the internet.

Also, I meant to ask. Which tech/invention/discovery do you think changed the world the most?

Oil, plumbing, electricity, lights, Tennessee football, cars, radio, cameras/photography, TV, phone, cellular phones, internet? What are the other big ones I'm not thinking of?

I left off at least 2 huge ones, I know.

@BaldBiker inventing the wheel was a pretty big deal. Or when @InVOLuntary learned to make fire.

Add to it that 2-3 runs are within the margin of error due to official scorer's decisions. Then we can go into scheduled opponents, decisions on starters and relievers, injuries, umpiring crews, etc., etc., etc.

Keep preaching, I will keep singing and shouting AMEN! in the choir. Stats nerds that don't understand the game and its nuances will still insist they know it all.

Advances in medicine. Namely, Penicillin.

Without modern medicine half the people who invented the other crap wouldn't have existed or wouldn't have lived long enough to make it. I don't think it's a coincidence that nearly all the greatest inventions mentioned came after the 18th century medical revolution.

Being woke up by pain always sucks. Happens to me too often. Hope your headache goes away.
Actually think I got a migraine after I went to sleep. That's usually the only headache that will wake me up. I mean, it's migraine pain, but I think I got the visual aura thing while I was sleeping. Should be gone in a couple days.

That was a huge discovery. I'm sure it led to a lot more discoveries in medicine and and inventions by people who would've been dead.

Seems like a lot of the major jumps come after a new form of communication comes around. More & easier access to better information.

I'm still blown away by how pretty much everything relating to today's computers work. It's amazing we can regulate and access information on such a tiny scale like in ssd/microchips. It's pretty wild when you start to understand how it works. . . even the computer mouse is incredible.

This whole channel is awesome if you like to learn about that type of stuff:
