2024 Presidential Race

Just saw that Trump and DeSantis met to “bury the hatchet.”

Are we thinking this is the ticket? How does this impact the Florida electoral number with both representing Florida?
It doesn't impact the Florida electoral number at all. If your asking does it change the odds Trump carries Florida I would say not really. He's already a 10 point favorite in Florida.

If Trump invested half of what he inherited in a S&P index fund and the other half on hookers and blow, he'd be worth 11 figures (i.e. over 10 billion)
Lot of money in Hookers & Blow.

Really nice margins. Especially if you cut the Coke and press gang the Hookers.

He’d be crazy to pick him and he’d be crazy to accept.

Hmmmm .... Is there any chance that "End Wokeness" did any push polling? I detect just the slightest hint of an agenda.
It was a Washington Examiner poll they cited. You are right about polls having hidden agendas. They tighten up near the end so they can keep their funding.

^^^^ This PBS article is from November of 2016, shortly after Donald Trump was elected. Trump promised to make infrastructure projects a priority of his 1st term in office, but never got anything done. That was because there isn't any political reward for infrastructure legislation. Even though both parties will agree that some of these projects are desperately needed, there is no political incentive to take legislative action because by the time the projects are completed, the current Presidential Administration will have left office.

^^^^ This Brookings article details what has resulted from the infrastructure legislation Joe Biden signed into law .... which Trump had falsely pledged to do after being elected. Biden will receive no credit or political reward for these projects when they are finished, but they needed to be done. In fact, Trump will probably take credit for them if they are completed while he is President. However, a well-informed person will know that Trump never did $hit about America's crumbling infrastructure. A President who didn't care about immediate political reward had to be the one to do it.
FFS man…. Tell us about Obama and all of his shovel ready jobs

There is some truth to that. They are mostly done either online or calling landline phone numbers ..... I haven't even had a landline phone in 15 years and even then I wasn't listed in a phone book. It could be because I don't live in a battleground state, Tennessee is solid red, but I have never been asked to participate in a poll either .... and I am 50 years old, and have been a registered voter since 1992.

I think anything within 5% is troublesome for Trump. Democrats have a built in cheat percent.

That's exactly why so little legislation is ever actually passed regarding public works projects. There is no immediate political reward, and so the sentiment becomes, "Why should I vote to spend so much money, when I might not get any of the credit for the finished project?"

What is in the long term best interest of the country is never considered anymore in any facet of politics. The bottom line is Trump pledged to prioritize infrastructure. He even held an "Infrastructure Week." Even though Trump had a Republican majority in both chambers of Congress during his first two years in office, nothing concerning public works was ever passed and signed into law.

For all of his blowhard rhetoric, Trump was all talk .... and empty promises.

We can put his infrastructure failure beside :

1) The non-existent new stretch of border wall, which Mexico was going to pay for.
2) Eliminating the debt .... He actually increased spending exponentially even before COVID.
3) Not engaging in socialism .... See the farm industry bailout from the trade war he started.
4) Repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act.
5) Not governing solely by executive orders.

Donald Trump was an ineffective President, who accomplished next to nothing.

You didn't read the Brookings article. You couldn't possibly have .... or else your reading comprehension skills are atrocious. In your case .... it's more a case of willful ignorance than cognitive dissonance.

The bottom line is the Biden Administration followed through with legislation which will be of great value to public works .... after the Trump Administration had pledged to prioritize them, but then did NOTHING.
That's STILL all you have. EL OH EL

Not only did Donald Trump not get ANYTHING done for public works, he even tried to sabotage the bipartisan deal that Joe Biden had negotiated.

Nice roads only bring more traffic. Traffic brings more pollution. Therefore infrastructure is anti- earth. Why do you socialists hate the earth?
