Can we get a true transfer portal thread? The VN and Twitter fanatics are filling this thread with propaganda. Since when has Tennessee had conflict with the transfer portal? You will do the usual and make this about the former coach but players out of the portal said Tennessee and the tradition is what made them sign here. Why is someone being dramatic talking about the new coach filling out the roster with her former players? When a head coach leaves the players across several programs have entered the portal. That is routine. Not all of them follow or are asked to sign with their former coach team. You all couldn’t dictate the positive reaction to the new coach hire and now are here with this doom and gloom agenda to be negative. You should be tired of being proven wrong over and over.

Aislynn shot 38% from 3 at Marshall this year. Just sayin’. She fits what KC wants to do.

She has to stay away from those Marshall players no matter how many of them get in the portal.

I anticipate that we'll see this exception to your post: It's a huge help to have one or two players who understand the coach's system and can answer questions and provide explanations to the rest of the team between practices.

In effect, we need someone to fill the same role that Vescovi and James have provided the past two seasons with new players, especially in the off-season.

Players experienced with the coach's system are a coaching-multiplier... and KC will need at least one to fill that role, even if they seldom play. Hopefully, ideally, at least one of her Marshall players has coaching aspirations of her own. That would be a win-win-win for all involved.

You would have thought when Anastasia had to go to MTSU but they kept causing issues there and at Mississippi State. Rickea and Annie butted heads at MS and Rickea quit midsession the year they joined the team. It has followed them everywhere they go.

The oldest one used to play here but got kicked off the team under Holly for weed. The Subarus blamed her for getting Holly fired.

All of these portal players and some (Zay) and the Hayes have been at multiple school and many years of playing! We don’t need more one year players coming here…. unless Jackson can get another year ? We need 2 or 3 year transfers to help years from now !

Like Velez….. she may not be a SEC starting type guard but she has 3 years ! And maybe Rosario might follow ?

The player from Clemson or others with multiple years to play should be coach Kim’s main focus . JMO

We heard a lot about how inappropriate it was for Jon to be on Kellie’s staff. Kim’s husband has less coaching experience and coaches men, so I would hope he doesn’t make an appearance on her staff here. We, of course, can’t know until it’s announced, but we have many examples of women making space for their husbands on their staff, deserved or not.

UConn has two girls in the portal as of today: Inis Betancourt, and 6’5” Amari DeBerry, neither played very much. This opens up two scholarships in the event they wish to add somebody at a later date.

This could be the result of Geno trying to deal with a 15 player roster. Both players as previously noted played very few minutes. They are very good teammates.

She was just a kid when she played at Tennessee. Now, she is a mature 45 year old women who just wants one last season to shine with her final 25th year of eligibility. It all went by so fast.....

I don’t think the transfer portal thread is the place to have this convo. As others have noted, we (including myself) probably veered too much into commenting on Marshall’s players and staff. This has been discussed ad nauseum by me and many others in other more appropriate threads.

In this portal era, u have to play it year by year. You can get players with 2-3 of eligibility and they can transfer anyway, get the best players you can get and try to win as soon as possible.

Annie left a few years before Holly was even fired at first I thought maybe they were referring to Teá fighting with Jamie. I was so confused, so it makes sense about Evina.
