Recruiting Football Talk VII

Speaking of storms, we just made it back to TN at 4 am today. Been in Colorado since Saturday and had planned on staying until tomorrow, but the massive winter storm out there had other ideas. Had a great time, but let me say there’s no place I’d rather be than in the great state of Tennessee. This place is where my heart is.

Lying to the NCAA isn't "a minor issue".
Don’t forget trying to have his assistant coaches lie, and trying to convince the recruit and his parents lie.

If it was just a minor violation and he admitted it, he wouldn’t have gotten a show cause… dumbarse, they name is pearl.

I personally am much happier with Barnes regardless.

Pics? Didn't really get much snow this year.

I can do pics

This was about 1pm when I took the good puppy dogs outside. It snowed for another 10 hours and is still coming down as I type

I am president of my condo HOA. My maintenance staff is amazing and has been shoveling and salting sidewalks all day like all hell

Much credit to them

37 inches of snow so far at my home today

Six more inches expected by midnight here in Denver

It is truly snowmageddon!!

I had a flight to a fav Mexican beach town at 6:30a this morning, but of course flight was cancelled. FML
Barely made it out of DIA last night. Flight was for 9 pm, got delayed to 11 pm, then we had mechanical issues with the cabin air that knocked us back to near midnight before takeoff. Snow started coming down right as we were getting de-iced. Worst part was flying over these storms were about to get, tho.

Crazy that we drove through areas on I-70 yesterday morning that got over 30” of snow less than 24 hours later.

Glad you got out

I obviously did not. I checked on an earlier flight but it would have been $600 more each way. Nope nope nope

Rosarito, the lobster street tacos, the toes in the Pacific Ocean, and the hot sinoritas in string bikinis will have to wait for next week

Wouldn’t we want duke to lose, making unc’s win not look as good in the committee’s eyes, plus we beat NC State, so that improved the impression of our win over them
Argument for NC State:
There is one quality win that UNC could have gotten in the the ACC tournament and now that isn’t an option. Beating FSU/Pitt/NC State doesn’t help your resume at all.

Argument for Duke:
The probability that UNC loses this weekend was higher if Duke won.
NC State was a fringe road Q1 win for UNC. They may have went back to a Q2 win with a loss to Duke. They are now entrenched.

Not much different either way in my opinion.

Happy Friday.

March 15, 2024: When everything around you seems to be harsh and unrelenting, take the time to come into My presence where you can find mercy, favor and grace. Let My love surround you and lift you up. I am your fortress, your high tower, and your place of safety and strength. Come and abide with Me, says the Lord. Psalm 18:2 The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

12 to 14? Why?

You just know Sankey and Co. are seeing projections for bigger and bigger playoffs and are circle jerking over the idea of a 64 team playoff by 2030.

All that sweet sweet $$$$
The expanded football playoff is an attempt to keep small schools and lower ranked teams relevant. If you listen to Sankey's recent comments that is apparent. He has pointed to the college basketball playoffs and how low seeds made runs and it kept interest in teams not in the top 10. I think they understand that if CFB becomes a game of elites only they will lose a lot of interest ($) in the game, particularly with women who are the fastest growing fanbase. People love an underdog or a cinderella, makes a good storyline.

No matter what you say it’s still a terrible business practice
It is economics, you may not like it but it is a fact. Rarity begets value. You can not change, no matter how much you don't like it, the laws of Physics, economics, or human nature.
Try arguing with gravity, God's laws cannot be rescinded or amended by man.

Several……what ya looking at??
We have a group of 8 and possibly a couple more and we were thinking of going there for 5-7 days to golf and drink. We’ve been doing this every year and now we venture out more and stay longer bc we have more money which is probably a bad thing lol
How’s the area bars, are they open late
It’s a guys trip. While we’re all in our upper 30s we still like to drink like crazy after golf and with no wives around lol
What are a couple courses we definitely need to play bc we usually do a 1-2-1-2-1 play schedule for 5 days
It looks nice on the internet but just wanted someone’s perspective

Seems like a business model for overpaid people who think they deserve more than everyone else. But whatever it’s bad business practice and economics. Nothing like wasting extra potential profit

I’d would be crazy if every job in the country had to do that. Things would look different out the windows lol
