in other words…. she got lucky…. the girl missed the shot and got bailed out by the backboard….. people would be complaining no matter what…. it didn’t work out in our favor..No, her plan was to get a wide open shot, and let the chips fall where they may.
Sometimes, good coaching is just putting your trust in your players and saying make a play.
The difference today was their defense. They’ve been bad most of the year. If they defend like today, they will do well. But they also won’t hit 50% from 3. 2 lottery picks and a 5th year guy who is averaging 20 ppg, and they have losses to UNCW, LSU, and a mediocre Gonzaga team.I’m not a Rick hater nor think he’s the best thing since Wooden… but he’s done a good job this season. Team will be fine when Santi and JJJ decide to consistently hit shots for a few games come tournament time. Credit Kentucky… Cal has changed up his style of play and has recruited multiple elite shooters. They’re so hard to defend its ridiculous
Was Larry Bird fools gold.It really is crazy how the media sets narratives. Have any of them ever said that Purdue is “fools gold” with Edey? Most times that Purdue needs a bucket, their first option is to look at Edey on the block. Of course they haven’t said that. Yet, here we are with our team.
Also, Davis said he had talked to some other SEC coaches and then proceeds to make that statement. What SEC coaches are knocking Dalton Knecht after we’ve beaten 13 of the 14 teams?

She got a wide open shot, with a chance to win it. Wherever the chips fall after that is irrelevant. She saw a defense and called something that gave her team a chance.A 6' '7" center who can barely make layups banks in a 3 point shot luckily.
How's that great coaching..
Athletic earlier said about Quad 1As...guess that's a thing...we have 5 1A wins...Zona has 4...quads adjusting for road games...so not necessarily ranked teams...Their quad 1 is slightly better, but they must be playing teams at the very bottom of the quad 1s because they've only played 4 ranked teams all year.
True and if she had missed it…. the south carolina board would be complaining about drawing up a play for a girl that had never made a shot past the foul line. She got a wide open shot, with a chance to win it. Wherever the chips fall after that is irrelevant. She saw a defense and called something that gave her team a chance.
There’s only one elite big man in all of college basketball and that’s Edey…only because there’s nobody else..basketball isn’t played the same anymore..him winning it is a fluke
They did at first. Fouling with 1.1 is risky. It’s a catch and shoot situation. The mistake was not calling a TO and leaving someone open. Jackson was taking direction and not even paying attention. You mean to tell me the Lady Vols had TWO fouls to give…….
Screw not defending the shot…..not fouling is a fireable offence.
That is my biggest fault with her…. why did she not call a TO when she had one left. They did at first. Fouling with 1.1 is risky. It’s a catch and shoot situation. The mistake was not calling a TO and leaving someone open. Jackson was taking direction and not even paying attention.
The double dribble after the missed FT would have probably ended it too.
