If we can close this thing out and beat Kentucky at home, I don’t see how we are not a lock for a one seed. I hope we will win the first game of the SEC tournament, but after that, it doesn’t matter. And honestly, it shouldn’t matter anyways. This team is proven, and they deserve one seed way before Arizona does.

I don't doubt it. Unless you are in amazing shape, there is NO FREAKING WAY you can play that defense. That's why he always has one of the best. I just hope this is the team that gets us there. (Grant/Admiral team was great, but we ran into that nun and bad call at the end) I don't care much about the SEC tournament-- I hate that they play it right before the NCAA where you get little rest at all. VOLS have been through a gauntlet. We just beat three top teams in a row.

I agree about baseball. Whining coming from the old fart stick in the mud coaches put us in that situation.

So, what's everyone's take on the conference tournament?

I would like to see the Freshman get a little playing time during it. We've gone into the tournament hot, and we've gone in cold so I'm not sure how much it actually carries over.

It doesn’t really matter unless you’re in a mid major conference playing for a tournament bid.

The only memories I have watching it (besides ‘22 of course) was when last place UGA somehow won it in the tornado tournament of 08. That’s not to say it isn’t a lot of fun. It is. It just shows it’s really inconsequential that I can’t remember much of anything from it.

I could see that happening this tournament where a team like miss state makes a run to try and get into the tournament. It’s the last ditch effort for some of these just out of the bubble type teams

They were loud on TV, and you know that they are notoriously slope shaped in the forehead region. They'll take credit for that chant. Then Somehow claiming the HVAC or some such was responsible for the loss, but claim it as the greatest motivational win in team history.

They’re blaming the refs. Like 15 threads about the refs on their site right now lol.

Even their head coach said this in his press conference postgame: “maybe the SEC isn’t ready for us to be regular seasons champs”

That's why I think getting some young kids some playing time could be fun, I'm not saying bench Zig or DK but maybe go from 35 minutes to 30.

08 was just a weird tourney but I remember the tornado as well.
But outside of 22..... Grants team had some battles with UK. I still remember the corner pocket 3 he hit against UK late to help win that game, and then our guys were spent and had nothing left for Auburn the next day.
