That said, if we're #2 in the South...our EE matchup is most likely vs Houston.

As compared to Zona out west...much more beatable team imo on a neutral, even if out west. Zona also more likely to not even make it there, as opposed to Houston who's on a tear.

Just imo. What do y'all think?

Regional in South is in Dallas.
Would you rather play Arizona out west where they would have more fans or Dallas where stands would be full of fans rooting for Houston.

West is where I would want to go..easier path.

IMO, I think it takes a desire from the UT president, Chancellor, AD on down to compete at a championship level. I compare the lady vols to the football team for the 10 years of wandering in the wilderness. We've talked about how everyone in the Admin needed to be on the same page, rowingin the same direction. With football, it's a no-brainer. It's the cash cow. With women's basketball, it's not making them profitable but making them less of a drain on the AD. I'm not convinced the motivation is there to fix it. Just, my opinion but I think they give her another year. They'll make the change next year when the wheels completely fall off. As usual, we wait too long before separation from bad hires. In this case, it will be about 3 years too late.

What a moment. Imagine how proud Barnes must be and how much confidence in santi he must have to, in crunch time in the biggest game of the year on the road, sit idly by and let santi coach the team.

I was looking at the top 2024 recruits in basketball on 247 sports, and I noticed we only have one commit in the top 300 (#69). With UT always being in the mix for the SEC title with Barnes, why don't we have more high school commits? My friend was asking.

Match up matters more than location. Keep us out of Houstons bracket.

If we finish the regular season 8-5 in Q1 vs Arizona at 8-3, we aren't 2 games behind though. Same number of Q1 wins, but our losses are better whereas they have an extra Q2 loss along with the Q3 loss.

Going by BPI, they have 2 losses outside BPI top 50 teams. All of our losses are against Quality teams.

Higher SoS. We shouldn't need them to lose another to hold the seeding edge. We have the better resume.

OK…question for the “bracket experts”. I realize the early schedule may be slightly better, but what is the difference in the 4th #1 seed vs. the 1st #2 seed. If you “chalk it” , you end up playing each other anyways.

She's a lame duck coach. It's not a matter of if but a matter of when. In the past when it's been painfully obvious that it was never going to work, we let it deteriorate further. It appears the LV are going further down to new lows. I suspect next year will be worse. The further the fall, the harder the climb.

What a lovely morning! Sun is shining, birds are singing, the dogs are napping and I’ve got some ribs to put on the smoker in a bit.

Oh yeah, Vols picked up another dub last night. No big deal…they just had to play without their bigs getting typical minutes, on the road against Pat Adams playing the top ranked scoring offense in the country…with Nick Saban sitting courtside in a high chair. So yeah, that was cool. Go Vols.

I know there's so much unpredictability in basketball, that all it takes in the tournament is one off game or the other team just playing out of their minds and it's over, but this team...well, there's an awful lot of potential.
